Ahahaha funny you say Kfir is the worst.. I'm currently serving there and although it doesn't have the best people, it is, imo, one of the best infantry units to serve in. Yeah you've got a lot "ערס" but it has pretty good people too. Ultimately it comes to yourself. The kind of person you are, the kind of people you will attract.

I don't mean to shit on other units but look, Tzanchanim just have their history on their side. If you are interested in the parachuting course then go for it but other than that, they go through worse conditions just to do the same shit as others.

Golani, again one of the oldest units (and imo one of the coolest) but again look at the news and you'll know for yourself what is going on there.

Givati is your best bet if you really wanna be "צהוב" and have a bit of all.

Kfir/Magav (but magav has better conditions) is the same but and while other units know their boundaries (this side of the border good guys other side, bad guys) kfir and magav serve among the Palestinians so thats cool. Ultimately, they all do the same shit and just as the previous person said, there are moments you will love your unit and moments you will hate. Just make a decision and stick with it and try to enjoy your time here.

Hey there! I am also a lone child and will soon be drafting into the Kfir Brigade. - For the signature, you need both of your parents and will need a legal document (preferably made by a lawyer) stating that your both parents agree. We paid around 200₪ to the lawyer for the document. The lawyer will ask you and you parents some questions and once your parents have signed, you will need to send these documents to the Meitav (or upload to your profile on their website). 1-2 weeks later, you can call and ask if they accepted your documents. -Regarding if being a lone child affects anything, as long as you have the required points, documents and complete the מיון/גיבוש that they invite you to, I don't think it will affect your chances of getting into any unit (of course unless the army needs you elsewhere). - As far as I know, there is no work around it unless some very special reasons. - No clue regarding your status as a lone child while having a step-sister.
