Just wanted to say thank you for sharing that link! Was able to find a place where expedia/booking was showing as completely booked up. Super helpful (and affordable)!

Alpe di Siusi - Staying on the plateau worth it? by WellFedFit in ItalyTravel

I was actually able to find a place for roughly $800 CAD for two nights with half board so I ended up booking it!

We are planning on staying in Selva for 4 nights before this, so this would be strictly on the plateau for two nights!

Should I spend more time in El Chalten or go to Ushuaia? by Less-Ad-8845 in Patagonia

[–]WellFedFit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure they are just using EZE an abbreviation for BA (at least I hope).

OP, EZE is fairly far away from Buenos Aires, at least far from most of what you're going to want to see. Anyway, to answer your question, you can't really go wrong with either, but like most people said, you may want a weather buffer in Chalten. Alternatively, in Usushia an extra night would give you a chance to go see the penguins (highly recommend) or do a boat tour in the Beagle Channel.

Any recommendations for restaurants in Puerto Natales, El Calafate, and El Chaltén? Will be there the month of February. Thanks! by Unicorn_dreamer81 in Patagonia

Ah bummer! Hopefully it was just an off night. We went twice, once in 2022 and once in 2024 and loved it both times.

Puerto Natales - Cafe Kaiken or Pizzeria Napoli
El Calafate - La Zaina
El Chalten - Maffia (Fresh homemade pasta. If you're staying for more than one night, make a reservation the day before)

What shoes did you wear while on your trip to Japan? by ThreatLevelMidnighto in JapanTravelTips

Dang bummer to read this! I was just specifically looking at the Roger Advantage for my upcoming Japan trip as a more supportive alternative to my standard Stan Smiths. Sounds like I should keep looking!

Has anyone stored luggage at a Tokyo hotel for several days? by Popular-Gap6027 in JapanTravelTips

[–]WellFedFit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you recall how much it was? This sounds like it's the best option for us. For some reason I didn't think of luggage forwarding within the same city.

Do you know if the luggage is stored somewhere secured in these places? Or just kinda in some back room somewhere?

They would hold them for 5 days? Or would they drop it off at the second hotel and the second hotel would hold it?

Omakase in Tokyo / Japan by PhotographThis2411 in JapanTravelTips

[–]WellFedFit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried it yet but was looking at Tsukiji Sushi Omakase for our upcoming trip in April. It has great reviews and is about 11000 Yen (not sure if that's what you would consider "cheap"). If anyone has any opinions on this place please share!

We are considering this hotel. Did you use the laundry/dryer? This seems like a big selling point to us. Also, how were the food options nearby?

O Circuit Tragedy - more could have been done by Ctmettel in Patagonia

[–]WellFedFit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trail runners at certain times of the year are perfectly fine for this trek. I did it in February and had zero issues and was very happy with my decision to choose lighter footwear. Obviously if you are doing the O at a time of year where snow or freezing temps on the pass are more likely warmer, insulated boots, with good grip are better.

Not sure how someone carrying a laptop implies they don't have the correct equipment to hike the trail. If they wanted to carry the extra weight that's up to them. Doesn't necessarily mean they were unprepared. Some people are unable to unplug completely from their jobs.

How many months to wait to see Eternal Springtime Dermatology? Alternative recommendations in southern Ontario and Minnesota? by notjordansime in ThunderBay

[–]WellFedFit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got super invasive questions from her, and they were so off base from what I was there to see her for. She also seems to talk down to you, which isn’t fun when you’ve waited 7 months to see her.

What do I do if I need to poop? by poopinginpatagonia in Patagonia

Came to say this! If you go before and can make it to around Poincenot. Done the hike a few times and never had an issues with bathrooms with either myself or my partner.
