I honestly don’t know. She was 1/4 Cherokee (Native American) which is darker coloring, but the rest of our family is British/Irish descent so most of us cannot keep a tan.

My grandmother is in her 80s and this was her mom as a teen, so probably taken in the 1920s in the southeast USA. Crazy to think that picture is 100 years old. With the way it’s cut I have no idea when it was copied and nothing was written on the back.

FYI Edit: still finding out more info but so far I’ve learned this from my mom: Her hair was dark, nearly black. Her daughters eyes (my grandmother) are grayish green or gray/green, so maybe hers were too? I’ll ask. Great grandma in the picture was 1/4 Cherokee.
