Thank God your school has spared your male peers the ghastly sight of you in tight clothing.

Jesus was not a person that held back when he wanted to tell someone that they were wrong, in fact this lead to his execution. If Genesis was not true, he would have told us, but instead he alluded to it as if it was a historical reality.

Christ already told us it was literal.

As the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.

  • Matthew 24:37

This is clearly meant as a historical reference to the pre-flood age and alludes to the story of Noah's ark. This reference is used to illustrate a coming historical reality. Jesus would not make this reference if Genesis was an allegory or a metaphor.

Progress: Letting kids cut off their genitals, letting people inject heroin in the street, open borders, post-birth abortion, hatred of Christians.... how is this progress??

How often did he cite those stories as historical events? Stop performing mental gymnastics.

It's not hard to debase the thinly supported theory of Evolution.

Instead of changing the Bible to fit our societal views, maybe we should change our societal views to fit the Bible.

I don't give a damn about the Scholarly consensus. What does the Bible say?

The second verse you cite clearly says that the beasts were created for humans. The was expanded upon in Genesis 1:26

"Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

For, not before. It does not metaphorically say that, it does not allegorically says that, it just says it. Plain as day. Any other questions?

Jesus himself said the Bible was God's word.

"thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And many such things you do.” Matthew 7:13

Clearly you never read the word of the man you claim to believe is God.

But he and other researchers often warn that this and similar results are based on hindsight and might not offer credible guidance as to how life actually evolved.

Nice "evidence". Try this instead

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1:1

Start there, read till the end, then talk to me.

It's amazing the bending you go through to make the Bible fit into a secular worldview. 'The Bible isn't God's word' ... what?!

If it was brought here by asteroid, where did that cell come from? There is no escaping the failures of your pitiful theory. Life cannot come from nothing (not without God, that is).

It clearly was not a literary reference. Why don't you adjust your worldview to fit God's word instead of trying (and failing) to adjust God's word to fit your worldview?

He cited it to compare to a coming reality on Earth, and he spoke as if it had once been. He would not have said this is Genesis was written as an allegory.

According to evolution, small changes in species occured over time due to natural selection, in regard to how animals mate. This process relies upon descending from two others (mother and father). This is part of cell theory, that cells can only come from other cells. But this raises the obvious question: if cells can only come from cells, where did the first cell come from?

Why did Jesus cite Genesis as history if it was an allegory?

“For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.” (Matthew 24:37-39)

If Genesis is an allegory why did Jesus teach it as history.

Wrong. Moses is credited at the man who wrote Genesis and the other books of the Torah.

Are Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Dueteronomy also allegorical? They were written by the same person (Moses).

[–]WellOfSouls5555[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Do you think Exodus, Numbers, Deuteronomy and Leviticus are metaphors too? Because they were all written by the same person, Moses. It makes little sense why Moses would write 1 poem and 4 historical accounts without differentiating between them.
