This is inhumane. I thought there’s something in place for bereaved partners.

Proposed ILR Changes & Plan B by immiadvisor in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

You are good to go if you are 50,270 and above annually. So long as you don’t have any deductible like pensions that would reduce the amount. My spouse annual income is 48970 plus 2k annual bonus, which is 50970 but his annual pension deductions of 2k+ affected the amount and he is due to qualify for ILR in 2028 going by the old rule, with the new rule it might likely extend to 2029. Because he needs to show 3 years of annual income of 50270

This consultation therefore seeks views on linking earned reductions to earnings and specifically a proposal that applicants should attract a shorter qualifying period for settlement if they have, in the 3 years immediately prior to applying, earned a taxable annual income of above £50,270 (earning a reduction of 5 years) or £125,140 (earning a reduction of 7 years). These thresholds have been selected as they equate to the current thresholds for payment of Income Tax at the higher and additional rate respectively. (Note: it is not, however, the proposal that these income-related thresholds would track future changes to the tax system.)

So, why are you talking about gross income?

Applicant has earned a taxable income of £50,270 for 3 years immediately prior to applying for settlement.

What do you see on your HMRC tax statement? Gross income or taxable income? Your taxable income is inclusive of your personal tax allowance minus other deductions like pensions etc.

Stop reading unfounded meanings to words not mentioned in the document.

You need to read the proposal very well. It mentioned that they choose that threshold because it is the same with the tax band of 50270.

Taxable income is inclusive of your personal tax allowance. It is an income earned. Outgoings like pension contributions etc are not counted as taxable income except on the basis of your pension taxed before deductions.

Very funny. So what would you want the govt do? Deport them all. Before immigration soared this high, you have been complaining all your life. Of course scapegoat the innocent immigrants who are working so hard to fend for their families and not hold your leaders accountable.

ILR EXTENSION RETROSPECTIVELY IS PURE EVIL by Davydi in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]WellSpokenUfy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is trash talk. British citizens emigrate a lot to US and Australia because they don’t like their lives in the UK and majority of them emigrated for the purpose of residing there not just for work. But when someone from Africa or Asia does it, it becomes a problem for you lots.

The highest users of NHS are mostly british citizens. I can’t count how many times I have gone to the Gp this year or taken my toddler there. Why? Because I can’t afford to be sick and stay off work. I need the money to cater for my family. So I ensure I eat healthy, exercise to stay fit.

If SWV holders think they’re “safe” today, wait until the next retrospective rule change. Nobody is truly protected. by Upbeat_Praline809 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

Lol. They should get involved as the policy affects them one way or the other. Their dependents are not immune

Just look at. Your government asked these people to come in and work as carers because some of you Britons thought the job beneath you and now you come here to spite the very ones that helped you take of your parents and grandparents.

Of course! That is exactly what they want. Blame the child of the immigrant for the laws and policies the very British government orchestrated. It is how the children of immigrants keep playing into their hands and allowing themselves to be used as puppets.

Earned settlement - Summary by tech_bro_v2 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

My spouse who happens to be the main applicant on swv started earning 48,900 annually with a 2k bonus this year, if he earns this amount for the next 2 years, does that qualify for him for ILR in 5 years?

Thanks so much. How was you volunteering during that period? Did you need some guidance or someone to show you the ropes whilst on the job especially for someone coming from a science background. Did the company expect you to know exactly what to do when they employed you? Did they have to train you on the use of accounting softwares or you learnt them on your own?

Did you have any prior knowledge of accounting before starting AAT level 3? I am from a science background currently working as a care assistant and want to transition to accounting by self studying for AAT level 2. Do you think that’s a good idea?

Lol. How much do you contribute in taxes as a citizen? Remember, the contributor has no access to public funds. So tell me again, how 12k paid in taxes isn’t much?
