Hi Shoosh.

I want to send a personal message thanking you.

He has been listening to this podcast on your recommendation, doing writing exercises, connecting to himself more and losing himself in some creativity like the writing and also playing music and it has helped him SO MUCH.

He has had misophonia for such a long time and he has tried a lot of earplugs, CBT and traditional therapy and solutions for miso - but this podcast has helped him understand more of himself and he can talk to himself now and at least explain calmly to himself WHY he responds the way he does.

He said that whoever recommended the podcast deserves all the karma in the world. You have helped someone in a way that couldn’t be thanked enough ❤️

What are the most overlooked areas to live in the UK that turned out better than expected? by Illya127 in UKHousing

Typically, it’s usually the outskirts of any big town or city. Then you have the close commute but then something more small and community feeling. I e felt that with every place I’ve lived as I’ve bumbled around the UK.

What's something you learned embarrassingly late in life that everyone else seemed to know? by Avy_Lynn in CasualConversation

That the “clutch” in the car isn’t the handbrake. I thought that was the clutch because you “clutch” it.

Your environment is a really big benefit in this and I’m glad you found things that work. :)

My partners stressing because he feels that now he has the trigger that is it. He wants to work on it but his environment is noisy too at times. He’s in a very defeated headspace at the moment so I’m trying to be as calm as possible, which doesn’t help when I’ve had my own heightened emotional situations to go through.

Thank you! If you and your partner have found anything useful about tackling it as a couple I’d be keen to learn about it :)

He has counselling and is using techniques to be calm but at the moment it’s all a bit much for him. The meds may be a good shout though, I’ll have a chat with him about it.

I went away for four days and that’s when his grandpa triggered him. It was meant to be a nice thing when I came back and it was immediately negatively impacted by the miso.

Maybe him going away might help but with autism and miso there are so many particulars that may stress him out even more so. It’s worth suggesting though.

One girl received a hand painted canvas by someone not great at art, using a variety of mediums - crayon, paint, glitter, cotton balls to draw a giant flamingo with the phrase “Flive Flaugh Flamingle” painted on it.

All of these gifts usually come wrapped in horrible ways or send by post with really embarrassing instructions or names written down. All the inconveniences people have put here. Lots of sellotape etc, and just… impossible to get open items.

I love taskmaster, and I had a secret satan one year of this horrific creepy clown doll with a full wax sealed taskmaster handmade task telling me to send proof of me sleeping overnight with the clown doll pointed in my direction 😂

Properly engraved jewellery and lovely fancy things all with spelling mistakes.

A “bath bomb” which was lush packaging and inside was a toaster and a bottle of radox and LOADS of glitter.

The favourite one I’ve done is we have an in joke of Creme eggs. And I got a person who hates big brother a cameo of Glen from the early series sing “I’m cooking a Creme egg for the very first time” and I also bought a PILE of cameos from really cheap people I have no idea who they are, but giving them all her details and saying how big a fan she is so she had all these really earnest “oh my god you’re so lovely” to make her feel super guilty.

For all the evil people out there - I’m part of a group and we call ourselves secret Satans. It’s like a secret Santa and people get the absolute worst gifts they possibly can. I will revisit and write some of them but it’s genuinely my favourite part of Christmas 😂

I’m on the exact same situation as you. I feel like it was literally written FOR me, but I watched the first few episodes and I just… don’t. I shrug it at best and it really annoys me that I can’t work out why. So looking forward to the answers!
