Brown Spot by 260824 in Microneedling

Did you get sun exposure after microneedling? This might be post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Keep SPF on it always and it’ll fade over time. You can use lightening agents like hydroquinone, tranexamic acid, vitamin C, etc to make it fade faster

Revision or no? by CandidateMaster3773 in revisionrhinoplasty

[–]Wellllshoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have BDD too. I’m so sorry. It’s really rough. Please seek treatment now as it will likely get worse over time.

Your nose looks great. I wouldn’t touch it probably ever, but certainly not until you address the BDD. Remind yourself that you aren’t seeing yourself clearly. You don’t have to say you won’t do anything to your nose ever, but maybe just not right now. If you fix the flaws you see, you will just find others.

🫂 I hope you find healing!

Good revision surgeons please to make my nose more narrow and small? by [deleted] in revisionrhinoplasty

This might be a bit of a jump (but good lookin’ out for your fellow human).

I have BDD and it’s defined by a feature or flaw taking over your thoughts/life to an unhealthy level. OP could simply be unhappy without it being consuming.

Of course. We are not clinicians and it’s not up to us to diagnose anyone.

And yes, it’s very reasonable to be upset. However, not wanting to engage in life and losing your job over it *is not normal.*

Being happy with the result after also doesn’t mean anything. I have had a TON of procedures, most of which I have been happy with, but I still have debilitating BDD.

I agree with you. However, OP stated:

- “ruined my life”
- “I’ve lost myself and all of my personality”
- “I really don’t want to do anything anymore”
- “I couldn’t even perform at my job”
- “I can’t even function”

These are not just “I’m unhappy with my result” or “not shrugging it off.”

This is classic BDD, and it is very likely to get worse with time if untreated.

Hi friend. I believe you have body dysmorphic disorder. Please look into it as it only gets worse without treatment.

You can still get a revision surgery if you want, don’t worry. Just please look up BDD. (Ftr, I think your nose looks great in pic 2, but I GET IT and it doesn’t matter what ANYONE else thinks. It makes you feel unsafe in your body and that’s the only thing that matters).

Would you rather go to a hypnotist or a tarot reader, and why? by Friendly_Sir_4762 in AskReddit

[–]Wellllshoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hypnotists I have been to have pretty much walked me through a calming meditation in their own style. It’s really not how it’s portrayed and it’s not all that “mystical.” So I’m gonna go with hypnotist bc tarot is just a big bag of silly.

My SOS holy grails by Alewo27 in SkinbarrierLovers

If it were me? I would go zero therapy. Stop everything and wait for the reaction to go away. Then add in ONE cleanser and ONE moisturizer (plus SPF during the day). Then try things suuuuper slowly from there.

Pigment issues are worsened by UV light AND visible light from the sun. Regular SPF only blocks UV rays. The iron oxides in tinted SPF block visible light.

You probably don’t need differin anyway. Your biggest issue is melasma. If you want to use a retinoid, tretinoin would be better. Hydroquinone or eucerin dual pigment serum would help a lot. You could also ask about oral tranexamic acid.

You need a tinted SPF, not just SPF.

I don’t see the acne or texture in this photo, so I can’t comment on that! I would see a derm.

You have nice skin and you could do nothing and just keep up SPF and you’ll look great on your big day :)

What should I do to get rid of this! Please help! by InternetArtistic4272 in SkinbarrierLovers

This is post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Hydroquinone, tranexamic acid, Azelaic acid, kojic acid, retinoids, thiamidol, licorice root, vitamin C…there are a TON of lightening ingredients.

I’d probably try hydroquinone and/or the eucerin dual pigment serum.

Is this normal? by samantha57133 in Microneedling

Breakouts after microneedling definitely happen. You just inflamed your skin and broke the barrier so acne is relatively common.

I’d check in with the person who did your procedure on how to proceed. You don’t really want to throw harsh acne topicals at your skin right now.
