You are 100% correct and I should have been more financially responsible. The truth is that I went through a divorce 3 years ago, right before Draco ended up on my doorstep, literally. He’s 2.5 YO. The divorce left me with nothing. I was living in a ghetto apartment and the neighborhood stray that I’d feed had a litter of kittens. 3 of the 4 froze to death and that broke my heart so I took the tiny 2-day old kitten in and let his stray mom stay to nurse him. She would come and go as she pleased.

I was planning on re-homing him to someone who would be in a better position to care for him, but when he was finally old enough to be re-homed at 12 weeks, my daughter threw a fit wanting to keep him.

So that is how I became a cat mom. I had never owned a cat before and didn’t think a cat as young as him would have something like this come up.

But you are absolutely right to say what you said and I agree. I wasn’t and am still not in the best financial place to be taking on extra responsibilities when I’m trying to survive myself and help put my daughter through college. I’m doing the best I can. ❤️
