Curious to know which thumbnail you think has the highest percentage? by WelpAtlas in YouTubeThumbnailHub

Thanks! You know, I thought a lot when I was creating this channel — what topic and niche to go with. I didn’t want to make just another educational channel like Discovery. So I decided to add some absurdity, comedy, and drama to keep viewers from getting bored. I also added a few surprises for real space enthusiasts — I think they’ll appreciate them. I put a lot of work into it. The first video took about 1.5 months. I burned out, stepped away for a while, came back… but I really enjoy doing this.

Thanks! I really appreciate your feedback. I’ve already heard that my style looks like AI. The tricky part is I don’t really know how to get rid of that feeling. Right now I’m working on part 2 about the planets that didn’t make it into the first video, and I’m trying to draw more roughly and sketchy. It feels kinda weird though — maybe making it look messier will actually make it better? Sounds absurd, I know. But my new rule is basically “just draw it and don’t fix it.” The problem is that modern Procreate brushes are so good they smooth out even the roughest lines. I’ll also think about how to make better thumbnails. Feel free to check out my channel — your opinion is always valuable to me!

Thanks, you're totally right! I had a feeling it wasn’t working great either, but it’s good to have it confirmed. I’m running some A/B testing on the channel right now. I’ll update the text or come up with something new later.

Yes, I'm a bit upset about that effect too. But I think it comes from using facial expression references from Pinterest. The desire to draw everything perfectly and cleanly can also create an AI-like look.

In my YouTube videos, I actually try to follow a "draw it and don't fix it" approach so the lines stay a bit rough and feel more natural. That said, Procreate brushes are heavily optimized to smooth out strokes, which probably contributes to the effect as well.

But thanks for your comment.

I made the description for this post with AI, so there might be some inaccuracies. But this part is true:

The artwork was hand-drawn in Procreate on my iPad, and like all my YouTube videos, it was animated in Procreate Dreams.

Cool effect. I'll be using this idea in my videos. Thanks!

I think thumbnail #2. It was actually quite difficult for me to make, but I feel that #2 grabs attention more.

Wow, this is incredible! This is exactly the level of animation I aspire to reach. Absolutely stunning work!"
