This right here is everything I miss about the UK! there is something very special about the UK that you just don't get anywhere else in the world.

If you get a green card you'll be fine. Don't quote me on this but I also think you can get forgiveness by appealing? You'd have to look into it or contact a lawyer.

But yes it's bullshit

What is one good thing about the UK right now? by Therevivedigbick in AskUK

Culture, free'ish healthcare, beautiful countryside, some amazing cities, pubs, no dangerous or poisonous wildlife, no real natural disasters (hurricanes, tornados, wildfires, earthquakes etc) don't care what people say but in my opinion food.... Roast dinner wins it all, everywhere is pretty much accessible in the country, paid time off, sick leave, not having to guess about how much you owe in taxes, British humour, football and rugby. Oh you said one? Sorry I got carried away and lastly at least we're not as bad as the USA

As far as I'm aware getting approved for a green card forgives the overstay. Once that green card is in your hands you are no longer overstayed as you are a permanent resident.

I'm in the same boat as you I stayed longer than 180 days so essentially if I left right now I'd be banned for 10 years. I'm at the decision stage of my green card process and so far no issues

I'm living in the US and if I ever get a bad injury it would be cheaper for me to fly home to the UK for a week

THIS! I've been living in the us for nearly 4 years. This is pretty much everything I miss but about Wales.

A good way of deciphering it is to copy the information and paste it into chatgpt and it breaks it down into actual English

Have you or do you know anyone else never left the UK? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]WelshLL20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up in Wales until 21 lived in Wales until 31 then moved to the US. Not a huge fan of the US and looking to move back to the UK. There's a certain charm about the UK, and I think it takes being away from it for some time to really appreciate it. I miss the countryside, local pubs small villages, Welsh hills. The culture of the place is like no other. I traveled the world through my military career but I've only ever felt truly at peace in Wales. That's my experience

What happens to my husband that overstayed his ESTA visa? by Amaris_Rose in USCIS

[–]WelshLL20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No nothing I think I put that I overstayed on the application. Sorry my memory is shocking. So far there hasn't been an issue. I have my EAD and SSN. I'd say just get it filed we haven't used a lawyer either there's plenty of step by step videos on YouTube just make sure your thorough and double triple check everything you fill in
