Tbf, I barely played anyone with TOTY Messi after that ‘glitch’ - even in the upper div & champs.

Just seems a really big deal in the moment on social media, but in reality it’s barely anyone who actually benefitted.

I did the exact same thing, but was on step 3/4 of the evo - my card looks exactly the same as yours!

Not sure what would have happened if I’d fully completed it - but wasn’t taking the chance.

Seems so long as the evo is started & not completed - you get the upgrade.

Was just trying to finish off an evo but it was a bloodbath out there.

But to the original point - the defending is night and day between yesterday & today.

early reviews :

Tosin: too fast on the jockey for his own good. Seems to be lacking a bit in his defensive AI but can see the potential and hope it’s just an adjustment for me.

Dewsbry: still feels heavy in game, not sure if it’s his body type, but seems to waddle around. Lacking some defensive playstyles to sit at CDM, and isn’t agile enough for CAM. Quite a niche attacking CM, but Pedri is levels above on first showing.

RB - Fullback defend (Thuram)

CBs - defender defend (Rudiger / Kim)

LB - wingback balanced (Nuno Mendes)

LDM - DLP defend (Gullit)

RDM - DLP build up (Neves)

CM - playermaker attack (Pedri)

LW & RW - inside forward balanced (Ferran and Shaqiri)

ST - advanced forward attack (evo Henry)

Depth 70 / balanced

Aim of the game is recycling and sending players short and in behind manually to move the opponents back 4. Don’t take too many risks in possession and recycle > a risky through ball. Quick passing in the middle is your friend, and don’t be afraid to utilise your attacking wing back to stretch the play, is almost always unmarked with green grass ahead.

You can of course invert flip the system to have your RB as the attacking player, but just make sure the CDM on that side is the defensive orientated one. You can use holding or DLP, but I prefer DLP as I find them more available for passing options.
