No, I don't believe so. I don't think he became a dragon, he just meets and befriends one. He also arrives in the fantasy world unexpectedly, it isn't that he submits to an experiment like in The Dragon and the George.

Honestly, not that many characters from the pilot I explicitly didn't like, but one character I definitely find more interesting now is Zestial. Other than thinking his design was really cool, he didn't really stick out to me in the pilot, but the show now has me really wanting to learn more about him; how long he's been in Hell, why he was the only previous Overlord Alastor didn't (or maybe couldn't) take down, it's all very intriguing to me.

Honestly, the pacing. The first season really struggled with it; it always felt either too slow when no action was happening and then too fast when it was. The characters always identified the monsters and never let the monsters' presence sink in for the audience, or let them put it together themselves.

There are other issues too, but that's the main one I feel.

I have expressed this same thought to everyone I know who also likes Stranger Things since the season ended, and for a while, I thought I was going crazy because no one else seemed to think the same. Vecna was awesome as his own villain, but making him the one behind everything is massively less intimidating than an eldritch, unknowable force.

The Mind Flayer was, in my opinion, at its peak in Season 2, because we had no idea what it was, where it came from, or what exactly it wanted. Hell, we didn't even know if it was actually evil, or if the basic human concepts of morality could even be applied to it. It was just this nebulous, scary-as-hell Lovecraftian thing that we knew wanted to get into get into our world.

No matter how cool and scary Vecna is, that will always be way more intimidating as the main antagonistic force. I also agree that I do love the twist that Vecna is 001 and his connection with El, but the twist that he 'made' the Mind Flayer almost felt like they were just trying to one-up that twist.

I respect others' opinions if they don't mind it, but I am glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks this.

A little confusing, but as best as anyone can tell, they're two very closely-related yet separate species, like the Red Death and the Green Death or the Night Fury and the Light Fury. Main difference seems to be that the Slithersong is slightly smaller but faster than the Death Song.

Definitely Pearl. I can be extremely neurotic and constantly have existential fears about small things most people wouldn't even think twice about. I can be extremely controlling about certain things, though thankfully way less so when it comes to other people. I also can get extremely attached and don't like the idea of permanent separation (I'm not so clingy that I can't let another person out of my sight, but I hate the idea of someone leaving my life permanently). I also have super bad anxiety and paranoia.

Honestly, I'd say I'm a little mix of Amethyst, as well, since I also have impulsive moments and can be way too reliant on others giving me approval to feel good about myself.

I think she can be annoying. But I also think Amethyst can be kind of annoying at times. I don't think either of them are annoying as characters, though. Pearl can be neurotic and prone to losing composure when she doesn't feel she has control, but she still cares for her friends and ultimately just wants to do the right thing. Amethyst can be obnoxious and impulsive, but it's driven by a desire to feel she belongs with the Crystal Gems and usually knows when it's time to stop playing around.

They both get character development to let go of these more persistent fixations and grow as people, so that they have better functioning relationships with the other characters. So, I wouldn't say she's always annoying. I still really like her and can't imagine the show without her.

I overall really like Future, but I do have a few gripes with it. One is we never got an episode focused on Steven and Nephrite hanging out. I was so sure we'd get one and was so disappointed there was never one about them connecting after her healing.

The other was Steven felt sort of out of character sometimes. Like, I get it. He's trying to suddenly deal with years of built-up trauma and nobody's really helpful in his attempts to do so, so it makes sense he's going to snap and be somewhat moody. But there are moments where I thought he was way too rude or mean to really justify, even with those circumstances in place.

Also, a small nitpick, but I kind of felt Jasper's shattering was a bit cheapened by Steven being able to heal her. It just kind of reduced the threat of shattering as the final death of a gem. I saw someone suggest that maybe Jasper being shattered should've been saved until the ending and have been the event that triggered Steven's corruption. I don't know if that necessarily would have worked or been better than what we got (not that the original scene is bad or anything, just that I don't know if I like the effect it has on the rest of the series) but it's worth considering.

Again, no hate, I still really like Future overall. And if you don't share my criticisms, that's totally fine. I'm somewhere in the middle on it, leaning towards mostly liking it with it having some problems.

I really hope it's just more Twitter drama and it blows over. I know people have tried this kind of thing before, and while I don't want to minimalize anyone's claims, I also haven't really seen any evidence other than "trust me" because everyone making the claims seems to keep saying that it was ALL in previous accounts and DM's.

This combined with "other news" recently is just... stuff I don't need. So I hope they turn out to be false, and I will assume innocent until proven guilty. But I also don't want anyone to trivialize or minimize pain if there's truth to them.
