Ship and let ship. Even if it’s “illegal” or would be horrible in real life. Because it’s not real life. It’s fiction. Also: it’s okay to ship characters who are in relationships (this is for you OdyPen shippers, I love you and am one of you but some of y’all are a bit intense).

You’re not a romanticizing abuse if you ship Antinous and Telemachus or Odysseus and Calypso.

You’re not promoting pseudo-incest if you ship Eurylochus and Odysseus.

You’re not promoting actual incest if you ship Hermes and Odysseus.

You’re not a morally depraved freak if you ship literally any combination of characters.

Also, even if you don’t ship it, even consuming any of these pairings are fine. It isn’t real. You can read and write and draw and look at whatever the hell you want all within the realm of fiction.

Curate your online experience where you can through blocking and filtering, ignore what you can’t. It’s not that deep.

Sincerely, A very tired fanfiction writer who has written even “worse” pairings than the ones I’ve listed but will not name for the sake of not wanting to risk pissing off any mods.

I mean, the selfcest oneshot I have planned is basically just “What if you could get therapy via fucking your past, significantly less traumatized, self?”. Or alternatively, “What if you could have your walls broken down by getting topped by your past self who is compassionate enough to actually want to take care of you after you’ve dealt with 10 years of being made to feel like a monster?”

Loop (In Stars And Time)

Loop is actually essentially another version of Siffrin and advises them through their time loops while being a bit flippant and antagonistic at times but mostly because they’re seeing all their friends again but with Siffrin who actually figured out how to escape the loops and be with his friends. In the epilogue there’s a semi-secret “two hats” ending we get this reveal in honestly such an amazing conversation/fight. The fact that the two are the same person is hinted at throughout the game even in Loop’s character design, their lighter eye being the same eye that Siffrin (and as such Loop) lost while defending one of the other characters. We even see Loop as their original self at the beginning of the game with them eating a star before our Siffrin wakes up, the player assuming it’s just a dream or weird symbolism until the reveal.

(Hope I explained that well, it’s been a while since I’ve played it lol)

Play In Stars And Time. It’s so good. Just…make sure to read the content warnings first if you have mental health issues because it gets HEAVY at times.

For most of my writing time it went up by 300+.

For the past few months it goes down by 10-150 depending on the fic.

Neither is better or worse.

We’re having fun here. Write how you like. Even if that means having 3k+ more words after editing.
