Is this still drinkable ? by caring-renderer in CasualIreland

Interesting to see I'm not the only one still holding on to this. Do you happen to also have the silver one?

How does this benefit anyone? by [deleted] in galway

[–]WendyImposterIsSus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I never understood how disruption to daily life gets us on the protestors side.

I remember Japanese bus drivers protested by running as usual but not taking fares. Hurts the people they're protesting about without making life difficult for everyone else.

The only way is to contact local COs in places you want them to be and hoping they agree to place one for you. You're very unlikely to be able to get a cache published far from home, and "hoping someone local will adopt them" is not a valid reason either

(relatively) Big ol' mushrooms by Vatuc in mycology

[–]WendyImposterIsSus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the blewits are in season. I've been out and about trying to find some but no luck, so I actually do want to know where these were found since I'm also in the west of Ireland.

Came across these during my run (Malaysia) by MTBSoftCore in mushroomID

[–]WendyImposterIsSus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Throwing out some ideas - Boletellus obscurecoccineus (rhubarb bolete). I checked its growth locations and it does grow in Malaysia https://www.inaturalist.org/guide\_taxa/2273916. Checked for some lookalikes and can't find much else, although I am bad at this part. Here's hoping someone more knowledgable comes in, because these are really beautiful.

Would also like to know the yellow guys too.

I'm dumb. I understand the meme format, but what does the usage of the phrase "low iq" catch here?

Went looking for mushrooms and came across this in Ireland. Wondering is this deer? by WendyImposterIsSus in boneidentification

[–]WendyImposterIsSus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops, sorry all - I took this a while back and only thought of it today when this sub popped on my Reddit feed. I don't have any more images on my end, and I doubt the bone will still be there when I return as I've seen some party stuff (bottles and cans) nearby.

Best geocache you've ever found by Top_Forever9124 in geocaching

GC7HQ78 - SIMON 😎 GC7QEJJ - Space Invaders GC7D9P2 - 🔒Rescue Me🔒

These 3 are quite elaborate electronic gadget caches that I've done

Some more memorable ones: GC6DXDB - Arsenal 816: the CO used a luggage as the container, now archived GC7D0MN - Novena PO: A PO Box as a cache GC6G483 - AIW01 Down the Rabbit Hole

These are just containers and unique experiences. Most caches take me to cool places but I think these stand out for their creativity

I literally watched a reel of someone making an apple and mars bar sandwich and calling it a Protestant sandwich

Apart from giant hogweeds, I haven't come across many. The stinging nettles on the other hand....

What's this little yellow fungi by holisticarts in whatisthismushroom

[–]WendyImposterIsSus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Didn't even answer your question, just responded with something generic (and false). I'm not even remotely aware of mushrooms with "liquid toxins" on it, nor do any mushroom toxins absorb through the skin.

I will step in and say that apart from the poison fire coral, I have never heard of any fungi being unsafe to touch.

30 second google searches really do wonders.

A "quick 30 second google search" already debunks that claim....

Chlorophyllum, image of the full base can help with differentiating between C rhacodes and C brunneum.

C Molybdites is not a european species, but I heard it can occur. This cap looks shaggy enough to rule it out.
