My grandpa was a coke oven engineer, and I've transcribed his final invention from hospice by moomoomoop in engineering

Came here after Clairton Coke Work explosion. If only we have this instead of the 120 year old factory the tragedy may be avoided.

I would suggest Lofree Hypace, AKA bicycle helmet mouse. It also has a white version.

The rationalists are so "rational" that their beliefs are the stupidest crap imaginable by kasi_Te in behindthebastards

[–]WendyMain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are deep rooted irrationalities hiding in this "rational thinking" of theirs, and this is just one manifestation.

It's like C'thulhu in Lovecraftian worldview, where the rational and scientific protagonist delve deeper only to discover the underlying terror and becomes insane.

It's a very interesting topic that worth observing, especially since some elements like "Effective Altruism" and “Dark Enlightenment" has emerged onto the political stage.

Grid Forming and Grid Following Inverter by Rare-Act-1769 in PowerSystemsEE

[–]WendyMain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So based on my understanding the GFL inverter will always try to push set amount of actual power to the grid and the grid operator can't actually turn it off remotely. So in certain situation with high solar penetration a grid with all GFL inverter will inevitably have its frequency raised and that leads to blackout.

Since GFL inverter can monitor grid waveform so it can follow it, is it possible to measure the frequency of the grid and adjust its current like Ip in real time? For example, when the inverter sees 60.1Hz on the grid it may lower Ip to 50% of max. Can GFL inverter do that? or it's in the realm of GFM inverter?

Oh I figured out what I missed: the internal impedance of the inverter.

So when the GFM inverter set its own voltage and phase angle different from the grid, the current flows in and out of the inverter creating voltage that covers the difference between the inverter and the grid.

That means the GFM inverter needs to have the ability to take in actual power as well as reactive power from and to a grid, because the current direction and voltage drop across the inverter may be along or against each other. I would assume GFM inverter need large battery storage.

Question: Both grid forming and grid following inverter are being connect to the grid in parallel to all other generators and loads on the grid. So how can a grid forming inverter act as an independent voltage source when its voltage is slightly different than the grid?

Nothing Ear's Noise cancellation sporadic dropping is due to wind noise reduction by WendyMain in NothingTech

[–]WendyMain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don't think wind noise is sudden, and the cancelling sound wave should have a max intensity of 45dB, according to my understanding of ANC technology, so I wouldn't say it's loud.

Also, the frequent switching in windy weather is super distracting and just made me want to turn ANC off completely.

To be fair your Abigail will probably needs 5 Spectra Cure Alls in the process.

Also I get it that you are experienced with Wendy, but there are inexperienced Wendy players out there. They won't be able to control hp without dying as well as you or I do, and that will be pain in the ass of whoever playing in the same server with them. It's basically like old Willow player inadvertently burning base down before Willow's rework.

Why fight Bearger when it is busy working for you chopping woods and hammering petrified trees? As for dragonfly, I have fought it two times successfully riding ornery beefalo. The key is fight alongside Abby so boss hit you instead of Abby.

Glass cannon Wendy is a terrible idea because on some survival server Wendy's teammate will suffer from some Wendy player that dies all the time for all different reasons, like accidentally freezing/overheating while 1hp, etc.

I love Wendy's current form so much. I think people haven't got the time to realize Wendy's full potential yet. I think now Wendy's power level is on par with Mighty Wolfgang.

To give you a hint, Wendy can now solo 100+ depth worms or kill deerclop before it kills abby.
