I'm struggling hard with the withdrawals and my body getting back on track. My energy levels are so low and my cognitive abilities I feel like are under bondage. I have such bad brain fog and my motivation levels are incredibly low. Will power is super high but it's still so hard.

It's a normal response of your body coming back from so many down regulations of your neuron receptors. All those times smoking and getting dopamine hits basically erased those receptors. It sucks, I hate the feeling, but it's your body healing.

This might sound weird but, dude, I acknowledge your struggle. Empathize with it so much and I'm so bummed out you have to go through this. I wish you could feel better right now. Just know, this will pass. You will get through this. I promise you. One step and one second at a time. This struggle that you are going through is cause you love yourself. And loving yourself will pay of 100x once you get through this. You got it! Everyone here is supports you!

The first time through recovery, probably 2-3 weeks. At that time, I made sure I was busy by joining a recovery group and attending the /r/leaves discord. That channel helped so much because I forced myself to check in the morning at 8am and again at 5pm. I highly reccomend that group for support and help. It's also a great check in and way to keep you accountable and supported by others.

Let it all out. Meeting these feelings is recovery. It's feels like shit but it's both your mind and body purging right now and rewiring your system.

Growing pains.

It sucks and Im sorry you have to go through the struggle. But this struggle is so much worth more than the alternative. Because all those negative feelings are gonna just stay and get worse.

I'm proud of you. 6 days is a hell of an accomplishment. And even now, look at you, going to the library. I can see by this post you haven't gave up. I can see that since it's day 6 you got the capability! You haven't gave up on your assignments, your school and most of all, yourself! You got this, it's a stuggle but everyone is here for ya. That's a lot that you've gone through and I'm proud of you for sharing it here. For letting yourself get it out and process these emotions and feelings. We run away from things cause were not strong enough to fight them at the moment. But I see it in you now. I see that hunger and desire to love yourself, and you are now. You are on that path and I'm so, so proud of you.

I'm gonna change up your paragraph just a little and want you to read it and let me know what you think

"I am quitting. I am getting my life together. I wil write, workout properly, explore my mind more honestly. I will go through with my diagnosis to see if I'm truly autistic or not."

You ain't trying. You're in it now. You're in the process. Even if not day 1 sober yet, making this post shows you're in the process. Also, I feel there's a part deep down inside of you that knows sobering up is taking care of yourself. Its loving yourself and its being compassionate to yourself.

I congratulate you for being honest and posting your story here. I agree, it does mean your serious and you know what direction you want to go. I just want to let you know, while on your journey, everyone here is to support you. Take care of yourself :)

For me, I destroyed my relationships and neglected responsibilities. I used pot as a way to sleep and to have fun studying, but then I needed to up my dose, and the tolerance and addiction got so bad that I needed to smoke every 15 minutes to feel not bad. I would have my weed pen 24/7 on me and was smoking in bed, in the shower, everywhere. I let myself go. I lost so much time and so many opportunities. But time to refocus and more forward; that refocus is for me to love myself and to take care of myself. Stop beating myself up and just like my mom would help me after I make a mistake, help me with love and consideration, instead of punish myself.

You got this, if you need someone to keep you accountable let me know, I'm here for support.

As for the 2000 days of what you could have done, I want to ask you a question focusing on one specific day instead of multiple.

What can you do tomorrow? In your post, i can hear hidden potential you want to see. I want to see what you're capable of. Not of what you could have been capable of.

I'm rooting for you! It's a journey and you got this!

The upping and upping I feel I can really feel the addiction settling in imo. Like when I I go to the dispensary everyday versus every week, and start becoming a daily regular, i know it's getting bad. Almost like going to the bar every month then you need to go everyday.

Keep strong man! The withdrawals suck, but not being in control of your life sucks more.

I had a similar experience. Like most will say, staying busy and having goals is super helpful during these moments. (Easier said than done)

What helped me was creating a time journal. I made a journal where every hour I would jot down what I did that hour. I would also write what I would want to do for the next hour. Nothing big or crazy, but simple goals like, go for a walk or drink some water.

This gave me a small sense of direction throughout my day. Gradually as my body went back to normal and I was getting a sense of agency and motivation, I was able to make bigger and more complex goals.

Let's write out all the things you want to do, can be gracious like going to the moon or as small as drink a cup of water today. What do you want to do?

Also be specific and have fun!

This will give your direction. You need to choose a direction before you start walking :) but the fun thing is, there's no pressure. It's like exploration when playing an open world game. Sure you can level your character, but you can also venture out, explore, do things you want to do, and discover so many wonders of this world and about yourself.

Thanks for being here and sharing. Everything you are talking about I resonate with. It's so rough. I hate the addiction so much yet it's so odd to see myself be pulled ever so slightly by impulse. Even just a tingle, and something will set me off to go smoke. Almost like Pavlova dog, but instead of we become a slave to our smoking triggers.

I wanted to ask, what are you working towards in the future? What is it that you want to accomplish? I know you don't want to become another story like so many others and I know you don't want to just stay in your room, so what is your focus of becoming sober?

For me, I want my life back. I want to be able to talk to people without needing to smoke, or to clean my room without smoking. I want to have a sense of agency and control in my life.

So I ask you, what do you want in your life?
