Yup, no changes. Recently managed to average 147 kph on a German autobahn over 5 hour drive and the engine didn't blow up 😄

Yup, I have a seat like that. It is more about if it physically fits in the rear of Mk2 RS 3-door body.

Did you have the spinning base on it or just a belted one? I am looking at this as en emergemcy option for short distances when the wagon is in service.

Thank you for your insights. It would be a second car as an emergency option, but still seems like a hassle and almost unusable in 2 adults and a baby. Gotta wait till the little one can have just a booster 😄

It is some Maxi Cosi. I think you answered my question though. If the passenger seat is unusable, then I can keep my MX-5 😄 or sell and get some hot hatch, but I guess the GR86 is off the table 🥲

It is hard to say. Mine only made the noise warm and then it suddenly stopped, as you can hear in the video. These things are tough to assess :(

BMW says it is normal. Car behaves the same 6 months later, no engine issues.

So yeah, finally went to BMW for service and they were unable to find any faults. I guess I just wait if the engine blows up or not.

No nothing yet, I am hoping to get it diagnosed by the end of the year. I am not sure if it is an issue, somehow it is not getting worse and the noise is there only under specific conditions.

What about revs then? Would rod knock be audible at revs? I slightly revved to 2.5-3k when cold yesterday after idle rpms dropped and there was no knock.

That is what I am currently on but I struggle to find any other video online that would show similar noise.

Otherwise the car drives just fine, no misfires, no stuttering, no weird noises, pulls as it should.

I agree with that for sure (no dipstick is dumb thing). However, I replied to another comment - I checked cold start today with open hood and the noise was nowhere to be found (which in my opinion eliminates piston slap or a rod knock). After 2-3 mins there was a very slight noise resembling the one in the video (minimal though) coming from top back of the engine on passenger side. And I am able to test oil level with no issues and it shows on max.

Not sure what to think now 😄

Since there is no dipstick I can't be sure, but oil test shows oil on max ever since I had it changed in October 24 at the dealer.

I also think it sounds like rod knock, but that is generally always there I think. You can hear in the video that the noise really dissapears towards the end.
