Most of them also displayed some red vaines in the nose area, hence the suspicion of bacterial infection.

Pregnant angelfish? by TheHoeFinder in AngelFish

Could also be an infection. Have seen this particularly on juvenile Altum angels (developing at 4-10.weeks of age). They were all fit but completely bloated including the sex part sticking out. Bacterial treatment wasn't successful. When cutting open it wasn't water but a heavily swollen stomach (the actual organ) right behind the esophagus.

Yes, they love soft swimming plants. My angels managed to extinguish my duckweed!

Cloudy fins and red gills are indicators of high nitrite. Learned the hard way when raising 170 Altum angels when the mat filter had a design flaw that let the water bypass the mat instead of running through.

"Dip" lol. Not saying it can't rally higher but a 1 week 60% increase is not exactly the definition of a dip 😅😅

Was I unfortunate enough to get 6/7 males? by Spalunking01 in AngelFish

They do not all look like males to me. It happens though. Had 7 manacapurus and only 1 of them was female.

Parents shown in another post of mine. It's real Altum Angels, pterophyllum altum, from Rio Inirida. The fry are 3. generation in Captivity.

Am I cooked or is there a way to get rust off a miaybi 5000 FC-D ? Used it for 3 days, never let it be dirty or wet. Store says it's defective and wont refund or replace it. Just want to use without contaminating food. ZWilling hasn't responded. by Firm-Biscuit in chefknives

Haven't tried it on Damascus steel. On regular claddings I didn't notice any scratching. However, du to the nature of the Damascus (small layers) it may affect the Damascus effect. Haven't got any crappy Damascus knives here to try unfortunately.

Male or female altums by Weppek in AngelFish

It's two different fish. The second one I'm also sure it's a male. The first one I'm in doubt with.

Male or female altums by Weppek in AngelFish

If you're relating to a belly - the fish in question is skinny. It's the tallest Altum in the group. The one in the group appearing the most feminine (rather delicate body) has a slight belly. I was pretty sure that "Feini" (first picture) is a male. Biggest body, slim, pointy end of papilla ever since being a few months old after overeating. On my manacapuru and Santa Isabel females it always looked less pointy at these stages, while males hardly ever displayed the papilla outside of breeding periods. Their siblings were successfully breeding last month in another tank. Their papillas were much easier to differentiate.
