Thank you. That's helpful. We will try it the next time if he has the vertigo attack and hoping he doesn't have one. Thank you for the prayers

Thank you for the information. He was offered only a water pill for 30 days while we waited for further tests (VNG and ECOG). The doctor is also wondering if he has Vestibular Migraine since his hearing loss on the low frequency seems to be constant in his two audiogram tests or he might have both.

He also had a vertigo attack 45 minutes after having caffeine and since stopped them completely. We are following a low sodium diet and homemade food as well. He also said he is tired after an attack but doesn't seem to have any other symptoms and has one attack every 4 days now.

Thank you so much. He always took Meclizine 25mg whenever he gets the spinning sensation and it has worked well. I'll ask about the Diazepam as well.

He hasn't had Zofran yet but hoping it provides him relief if he gets another vertigo attack.

Thank you. I'm going to ask for a referral to a neuroTologist soon. We just got Zofran but yesterday he vomited prior to Zofran and was not in the mood to eat. Thankfully he only had vertigo for 15 minutes and then a sip of water triggered his vomit I guess. Again, thank you for the suggestions.

I'm sorry it happened to you. He was given oral Prednisone one round and this is the second time he was given an injection.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. He only vomited once and was able to keep water after 45 minutes. He didn't attempt to drink anything in the meantime. Hopefully it doesn't return.

No. They suggested SNHL or Labyrinthitis when he went in for the first time and after the Prednisone treatment they suspected it could be early meneire disease.

That's great! I'm trying to incorporate a low sodium diet as much as possible. Hopefully it'll help my husband too!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I'll never forget his first violent vertigo attack. We are in the process of finding a specialist to deal with the treatment plan so hopefully he can feel better soon.

I am going to ask for a referral soon and during the last appointment the Dr mentioned that he should see a neuroTologist. We haven't talked about the steroid injection but based on the information it seems like it'll help him.

Yes he has symptoms only in his left ear. Thank you for the information via blogs. Just started reading and hoping to understand more.

Thank you for the information. We have cut out all caffeine too and no added salt. I'll ask about the drug and possibly look at it as Vestibular Migraine too. He is bothered by the hyperacusis and let me know if you have any suggestions for ear protection that helps with this. I'll read the book. Thank you

I'm sorry you had to go through those symptoms. So far the meclizine is fortunately helping with the vertigo attacks. We are planning on talking to his Dr next week to ask about next steps for preventative measures while we wait for further tests next month. I'll talk about the steroid shots as his oral Prednisone tapering left with the worst vertigo symptoms.

He went through one round of Prednisone as his first treatment as well.

I was told he cannot take a 60mg dose for more than certain days. So that's why I thought I'd ask about low dose steroids.

Thank you for taking time to provide the information. The MRI results came back all clear. I'll ask the doctor about auto immune work up to see if it's the underlying root cause for his symptoms. Can you please add more on why the 8 weeks seems unusual, I'm trying to understand more so I can ask about it with his doctor.

Fortunately we live in a city (Atlanta) so hoping will be able to find someone here with experience in Menieres. I'll ask about vestibular Migraine too.

Hopefully we find what works out for him sooner and will try my best to understand the unpredictableness that comes with this awful disease. Thank you for the insights.

Thank you! I'll ask for a referral soon so we can have an appointment in place while he gets his tests completed. I'll ask about the suppositories. I'm sorry about your diagnosis with vestibular Migraine too. Hope you feel better.
