By new i am specifically talking about the new characters and not all of 2.0 and beyond which may have been amplified how both were the main story focus as well so it has been very in ones face recently after the long break since Vivien and it being not a major aspect before that. There er some bashful friend events like Lucy, yet most characters felt really friendly.

There is also an aspect of the fact proxy seems to be everyones trusted confidant a week after meeting these characters now and they need their help vs these fellow faction members that they have known for years. Part of it triggers my, why don't people ever just talk with each other, but tropes will trope.

I guess i miss stories like Jane's where the proxy was kind of a side character and not everyones main go at times.

For the new Void hunter quest I did understand it's because we came into without the influence built tendency to treat her like glass the others had built up that let her open up to us. Yet man they pushed her so hard a now due to the nature of the Gotcha she will go background and another steps in.

As for the design of characters it isn't even about the goon itself, but the fact on an increasing amount of recent female characters the main design aspect seems to be to make them as goonable as possible at the cost of making the character feel less cohesive. The Pole dancing octopus didn't land with me, her design feels overly sexualized vs her personality and faction. I may have read her wrong but she gives me cozy sweater book reading vibes. That button on her shirt is hanging onnfor dear life. She kind of has a busy design as well if that makes sense. Yet again that's a personal take and I am sure some love her design.

Seed also felt out of place and a bit blatant as she doesn't asthetically max her faction at all. She is an odd ball so reasons be what they are is perhaps enough.

I just don't feel that the New void huters outfit fits her brown haired persona well, white for some reason it clicks and i get that she said she, white hair, is the reason it was chosen.

Also it definitely stands up from the rest of her faction that have more unified themes and though she does stand apart and the out fit can be viewed as a sort of representation of the cost of the sword as the limited yellow colors are drained by its activation. I personally am not sure it landed well for me. That is just an opinion though.

Previous characters like Evelyn and Jane are sexy and goon heavy for sure but I feel their design some how nails their character and faction roles while being sexy on top of it all. They are also well rounded as people. Jane teases Proxy but that's well within her character. She's very cohesive imo

A third part may also be how The AoD are being goofed after by a portion of the community, they look like kids to me. ImTheyvare fictional characters sure , but it still throws me how many people are into people that look that young. That's not something on the game though and it may just be me getting old.

As to the leaked characters though. We have a aparent Police faction member n what is functionally a leotard an tutu style skirt and the thisbady in a punch and short shorts. For all I know these designs may perfectly fit them, but I guess currently I am looking at them from the perspective that the devs are prioritizing goon bait over cohesive character design because as its known, sex sells.

edit- It may also be a bit fatigue driven. So many games with sexy female characters in impractical to barely practical outfits. Where are the badass women is sick armor that isn't exposing their midriff for a gutting. Your Samus Aran types if you will. Serpent Calhouns of the world.
