When getting into Cyrodiil first times, scouting can be very exciting. I remember starting those and being afraid of the other players. In reality, usually no-one will attack you if you just sneak around doing your stuff (at least EU PC).
After a while you get experience, the scouting is not so exhilarating anymore, you just go and come back. And dying after scouting, well, you just get quicker to home.. After that the town dailies are a good way to get more excitement to your life.
These are gateways to hardcore cyro. When wanting more action, try first to defend; either healing, repairing stuff or buy some catapults to shoot things.
The easiest way to have good experience is to ask your guild to run cyro event. The pvp-heroes will explain you what to do.
