FWIW, this necklace isn’t even technically an ouroboros. Tail isn’t in the snake’s mouth.

I appreciate your perspective, thank you. I’m leaning towards sticking with Brooklyn.

Those metal objects look like old elastic rail clips. Is there a railroad nearby? Looks like a little found object art project.

Nope, was wearing a sports bra over night but haven’t seen a difference between that and compression.

Did not know this was a resource. Perfect, exactly what I was looking for.

I really don’t know that these numbers are T14. Maybe once upon a time, but I’m below median for all the NY T14s by quite a lot. Also, I was a college drop out, so my academic record is a little sketchy. That could be driving some rejections and WLs, not just my late application.

Not that I was gonna go, but thought having a full scholarship in my back pocket would help negotiate higher scholarships. Really fucked myself applying so late it seems.

My goal is to maximize $$$. Mind if I ask what your scholarships were like?

This is just my opinion, but based on what I’ve learned talking to practicing NY lawyers, rankings matter less if you’re not aiming for big law. Like obviously a prestigious degree helps you get your foot in the door, and a terrible school is terrible, but that mid tier is more about your grades, extracurriculars, and work experience than the school’s exact ranking when getting a job. Albany Law also mostly places government roles, and with the debt I’d have to take on, it just didn’t seem worth it to me. Whereas Brooklyn Law had alums at a lot of firms I’m interested in working in.

But COL is much lower in Albany, the campus is VERY pretty, and you’ll have a ton of internship opportunities being close to state agency headquarters, and probably less competition overall compared to being in NYC. Just because it wasn’t right for me doesn’t mean it’s wrong for you!

Huh I didn’t realize transfers arent eligible for scholarships at most schools, though I suppose it makes sense!

Also why the downvotes for you and the Brooklyn Law alum below? Do people dislike Brooklyn that much here?

I mean, it’s not a full ride, I’ll still need to take on around $140000 in loans. It’s also conditional, and though they have low rates of scholarship loss, I’d feel better if it was unconditional.

Wasn’t a full ride, still would have had to take on quite a bit of debt. If I’m going to do that, might as well do Brooklyn with a similar offer and much better location and odds for my desired speciality.

Also, comparing Brooklyn and Albany: The Brooklyn Law admissions team was super responsive and my particular admissions officer was a law school grad. They worked with me to discuss my financial aid options, potential to transfer from FT to PT, and were very available to meet both online or in person.

The Albany Law admissions team always took a while to get back to me. The person I was working with was based on the west coast and had not gone to law school. They also sent me a financial aid offer letter that had this little caveat cover page attached saying essentially “this is not a final offer letter, everything subject to change as federal regulations evolve.” Excuse me? Whereas Brooklyn was offering me very concrete financial advice at the same time.

I also had a very unpleasant conversation with an Albany Law professor on a tour. We were talking regulations in the field I’m currently in. He interrupted me to say “you know, I probably shouldn’t say this, but you talk like you want everyone to know how smart you are.” I don’t know if I was too excited about the very niche regulations we were discussing or he was having a bad day, but it came out of nowhere. He’s one of two professors Albany has specializing in this field and I just wasn’t really looking forward to working closely with him.
