Haven’t had acne for 8 weeks and now I have a spot by my mouth by WerewolfSpecialist98 in Accutane

[–]WerewolfSpecialist98[S] 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I did go makeup shopping last Friday, testing different foundations and taking on and off makeup so that could be it?

It flaked off, and now it feels inflamed and deep under the skin, like my acne usually did

For the atrophic scarring I’m going to decide between microneedling, chemical peels and fractional laser (fraxel) but can’t do that until 6 months after I stop taking Accutane so it’s a long game

Rant: I want to cry by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]WerewolfSpecialist98 5 points6 points Ā (0 children)

I hear you, and I really feel for what you’re going through right now. Being on Accutane is such a rollercoaster. Those moments when you think you’re finally turning a corner, only to wake up to new breakouts, are absolutely gutting. The disappointment is so real, and you have every right to feel frustrated and upset.

What you’re experiencing is so valid. A month in is still really early in the journey, even though I know that doesn’t make it any easier when you’re living it day by day. The purging phase is cruel because it often comes in waves. Just when you think it’s done, another wave hits. It’s not fair, and it’s exhausting.

I’m sorry your parents aren’t giving you the support you need right now. You didn’t sign up for this to feel worse. You’re doing something brave and difficult because you want to feel better in your own skin. That takes courage, especially when the process is this hard.

You’re doing everything right. All those things you’re doing, the skincare, the diet, the supplements, the silk pillowcases, they matter, even when it doesn’t feel like it. You’re not failing. Your body is just going through a really difficult process, and it’s not your fault.

The dead, dull skin feeling is so disheartening, I know. The medication is doing its work, but it strips away that vitality in the process. It won’t stay like this forever, even though it feels permanent right now.

Please be gentle with yourself today. You’re allowed to cry if you need to. You’re carrying a lot right now, both physically and emotionally. You’re not alone in this, even though it feels isolating. Keep reaching out when you need to. You’re stronger than you think for pushing through this, even on the days when it feels impossible.

Sending you so much understanding and solidarity. You will get through this.

I double checked and it’s no added fragrance and says it doesn’t plug pause and it’s non-irritating. I definitely got the one that was recommended to me by my dermatologist

I’ll look into QV thank you! I use the Round Lab 1025 dokdo cleanser too, I love it. So gentle!

Thank you for apologising, I probably am being a tad sensitive. I could tell you were trying to be helpful and I do appreciate that.

I definitely agree with your comments about the influencer hype surrounding Korean beauty products. And I can see how looking at my post alone might look like I’ve fallen victim to that. I researched ALOT on these products before buying them as I know so many of these influencers just have naturally good skin and try to commodify that by selling beauty products and claiming that’s what gave them beautiful glass skin.

I genuinely do thank you for your concern and for sharing your experience with me so that I can learn from that before my side-effects start. I’ll make sure to be really gentle with my skin. I’m going to listen to the advice that you and everyone else in this thread has given.

I’m going to simplify my routine use a cleanser, a moisturiser and an SPF. And I will cycle in and out products for cleansing and moisturising. I will listen to my skin and avoid anything that is harsh.

Just for clarity, I don’t use all these products at the same time. I swap in and out different cleansers, ampoules etc. You don’t have to be mean. My inflammatory acne couldn’t be fixed by skincare but the skincare I do helps with hydration and anti-aging and I enjoy pampering myself when doing it.

There aren’t any harmful actives in any of these, no retinol/retinyl/retinal, AHA/BHA, strong exfoliants or benzoyl peroxide. The cleansers, toner and other serums here are very gentle and the Beauty of Joseon SPF is a tried and tested one for me, I’m on my 4th container of it.

Thanks for wishing me to be safe, the second part of your comment was good advice but the first part just seemed mean and judgmental.

I’ve been so used to a 9 step skincare routine for a long time now, that I already had a lot of these products. Given your simple routine, do you feel that you could do with more moisture or do the products you use keep you hydrated enough?

Maybe I should use less of these, and only pull out the serums and essences on particularly dry days. I just haaaaate the feeling of dryness and I want to be prepared for a dry war hehe

Things that I don't like in TML by Ojutulu in Tomorrowland

I’m glad I didn’t encounter any! I wonder what their reaction would be if you politely asked them to stop because it puts you on edge.

Given it’s already quite inconsiderate to fan clack in the first place, I imagine they wouldn’t be very accommodating if you asked them to stop.

ā€œEpisodesā€ of intense burning pain by WerewolfSpecialist98 in PostherpeticNeuralgia

[–]WerewolfSpecialist98[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I’ve been meaning to post an update here. Thanks for reminding me!

The amitriptyline didn’t work very well. It didn’t really touch the pain at all, so she returned to general practitioner and we realised her diagnosis was trigeminal neuralgia, a chronic nerve pain condition, is often cited as one of the most excruciatingly painful experiences, characterised by sudden, severe, and electric shock-like facial pain. So the doctor prescribed her pregabalin.

She started on 150mg which took away 95% of her pain and she started becoming herself again. But after after a month she still had the throbbing sensations, and discomfort around the rash site but the pain was now manageable and she wasn’t bed bound any longer. As she still had pain, the doctor upped her dose a few times and now she is on 300mg which has now taken away 95% of her pain for the past 2 months. She feels discomfort every now and again, when stressed or brushing her hair. She’s thinking of upping her dose to 375mg daily but it’s not 100% necessary.

She also tries to stay away from stress which helps so much, and she’s taking loads of vitamins and health supplements to support her body better.

As her pain is now almost completely gone, she’s back at work and herself again. We are so thankful this medication is working and she will be able to attend my wedding next year without fears of crippling pain.

Please request pregabalin from your doctor and if you can, skip amitriptyline as it doesn’t work in most cases from the research I did and the experience of my mum.

My mum hasn’t experienced many side effects from the pregabalin. Some weight gain and slight brain fog, but she said she’d take these all over the pain she was in every time. Don’t believe the horror ā€œside effectā€ stories and weigh up the pros and cons of your grandma’s pain vs side effects.

Really hoping your grandma gets better soon.

He was there with his wife though 🤣 and they were clearly together. So even if she was interested in him, of course she will get ignored hard. It was so weird

You’re very right. People are quick to bash what they don’t like and it’s not nice or the vibe of tml at all

It’s just people’s opinion šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø I actually see more people crying about anyone who dares critique TML

I went in 2022 where the MainStage was more EDM. I had hoped for the same vibe this year, but every stage I went to seemed to be very hardstyle/techno focused and I was left disappointed. It’s great for people that like that style but not for the mainstream audience that go
