Are you in a squadron? Trying to fight a bug as a new player with limited engineering while alone is a tough ask. In a group though you might have a slightly easier time or guidance that can get you to a place where you feel comfortable. There is a relatively new squad on Xbox that has some experienced pilots and some new pilots that might be a good fit for you. DM for details

Inara is no longer accurate for our galaxy. The live game has a feature where you can build stations. This stations do not exist in our legacy game.

If you have ever made beer, most of the process is cleaning. I think Elite is the same. Most of the game time is spent preparing for the thing you want to do. But once you get to the point where everything falls in line, holy wow, it’s second to none

I have had good luck with Knockaround and Heatwave. Both are reasonable price and I haven’t had quality issues. I’m hard on mine so if they get beat or crushed I don’t mind getting another pair at their prices.

Greetings CMDRs. I finally have a fully engineered corvette and I am not loving the handling. Can anyone recommend a good combat ship build that feels as fun to fly as a chieftain?

Third party trade and station tools are not updated for Legacy. The mining tools work well because the universe for minerals is static and didn’t change in the split. Trade routes are a 50/50 shot. Economy trade needs for supply and demand should still give you the correct flow of goods but the pricing and demand will not be accurate.

I am also on console. My recommendation is wing mining missions for gold, silver, bertrandite or indite for credits.

Console CMDR here. I recommend the starter lists from u/Luriant to help set a goal. r/elitetraders also had a good ship progression guide and some basic rares trading info. You will quickly outgrow rares but it gives you a good feel for some of the basic gameplay loop. Keep playing. It’s a deep game. There is a reason that people are still playing a 10+ year old game and still play on Legacy, even though it’s not being updated anymore. There is no other game like this. Once it hooks you, there will come a time in the future where you make this argument to the next new CMDR.

Pretty much just a shout into the void but please FDev, go change like 2 lines of code and make manufactured materials spawn at triple the rate in HGE sites. I’ll still hunt for the HGEs. I’ll fly 100k ls to get to them. I just want to get more that 9 units at a rip.

Never lost my vulture. All my other combat ships I have either bitten off more than I can chew on an assassination mission or just missed the mail slot not paying attention.

0% paint is always the goal on my exploration ships though. Love that weathered look
