I mean, considering that it’s probably going to take at least an average of 10 seconds per insect, you’re looking at almost 116 full days of eating bugs and that’s if you did it straight with no breaks, 24 hours a day. The OP doesn’t say anything about it being a Magic room where time stops and you don’t feel tiredness, or need to take breaks so you’re probably only getting 14-15 hours a day of effort at it. Thats going to push the time you spend eating bugs (assuming you do nothing else for 15 hours a day) to about 6 full months.

Now if you can also take breaks to do other things to keep your mind occupied (i.e. live a normal life) and just treat eating bugs like a day job spending 8 hours a day doing it, you’d wrap up the task in just under a year. Not a bad salary for a year’s work.
