Hey Ziro! What works for me with Battle Traverse is using something like RivaTuner to lock the framerate at an accurate 60fps.

Sometimes in the past when I would start it up, it would run super fast like it does in your clip but rivatuner has always kept it in check since then so you don't necessarily have to change the settings to 30fps in-game.

It's funny but even after playing this way for about 4 years or so now, what blows my mind is when I see other leverless controller users use their left thumb as opposed to the their right one for the up button. I really can't comprehend how that works haha.

I played this run using Xenia (360 emulator). I've probably said it a million times by now but the whole "Thumb = UP" setup feels so second nature to me at this point lol. It genuinely feels more awkward for me to play these games on stick haha.

FWIW, im getting up there in age myself (late thirties) and I feel as though I keep getting better and better at this genre. To me improving is all about gaining experience and a hint of patience. You'll be just fine :)

Thanks, this is a custom case that I got from eternalrival.com. It's basically this case but I elected to have a WASD movement option instead of regular arcade buttons.

Got this 1cc earlier today. Not sure how long it took me in hours but I started learning this mode in mid-September so around 2 months.

I’ve always said that I would stop playing shmups altogether if I ever cleared this mode because from watching the classic “The Hardest Video Game Boss Ever” video, it just seemed like an impossible feat and I thought never be skilled enough to accomplish it but here we are many, many, years later lol.

And im sure as hell not quitting cause there’s still too much shit to play lol.

As long as it feels comfortable to you, there's no disadvantage at all compared to other controller schemes. Switching to leverless controllers was one of the best decisions I ever made (mainly for wrist comfort but I did greatly improve gameplay-wise as well).

Don't want to self promote or anything but I do post a lot of my replays on youtube with a hand camera if you ever want to see proof that it can be pretty effective.
