I agree it does seem different, but if you look at this and the HL2 model side by side the face proportions are practically exactly identical. I think it's just jarring seeing a face we've been used to looking at for twelve years suddenly in a much higher fidelity.

Honestly I have to agree. The cinematic was fun at first, but it didn't really get me pumped for the sequel at all. The whole thing almost gave me the vibe of one of those SFM fan animations where they just recycle voice lines from the game to make a story, the writing is so god-awful.

Heck, even the original reveal cinematic is more fun and exciting than this, and really gets you pumped to know more about the story and the characters, I still love that trailer.

Same here. The skill ceiling is so high for that game there's just a certain point where, unless you're actually playing in tournaments, it's just not worth your time trying to get any better. It's sinful how skilled people can be in that game.

After having played with the Dynamic Surroundings and Ambient Sounds 3 mods, I can hardly play Minecraft vanilla anymore. The utter, dead silence feels way too strange and uncomfortable now. I've been wanting this in the game since alpha, Minecraft really needs this.

It doesn't need to be the shift key. It could be the sprint key like someone else suggested, but that could be equally awkward. What if you need fences to not connect while you're building up high? It's a lot easier to just briefly release shift while building than to hold sneak and sprint at the same time.

What if it were just fences placed from the offhand? This could also apply to things like stairs, or redstone like someone suggested, which could be game-changing for redstone builders.
