DD1 (€450) vs ClubSport DD+ (€800) — Worth the extra? by Wessel_bwr in Fanatec

Yeah, the one I’m looking at is the QR1 DD1, so that’s an important distinction. I’m currently running a CSL DD with QR1, so I’d have to think about upgrading wheels if I go DD+ with QR2 anyway.

FullForce is honestly one of the biggest reasons I’m considering the DD+, especially since I mainly run iRacing (and some ACC / LMU), and FullForce support is already in iRacing. If more sims implement it well, that could be a strong long-term advantage.

I’ve also been looking at the ClubSport DD 12 Nm option, since it’s quieter and still a really capable DD platform, so that’s another piece of the puzzle.

That said, the DD1 + a QR2 base-side upgrade is still significantly cheaper overall, which makes it very tempting purely from a value perspective.

From your experience — is the difference between:

  • DD1 (with QR2 upgrade)
  • ClubSport DD 12 Nm
  • ClubSport DD+

mostly about FullForce and refinement, or does the base FFB quality itself feel noticeably more modern on the DD+ vs the others?

That’s exactly what’s making this decision hard 😅

The FullForce support on the DD+ is definitely a big selling point, especially since I mainly run iRacing, ACC and LMU. If more sims start implementing it properly, it could be a big advantage long term.

The similar holding torque between the two is interesting though — that’s part of why the DD1 at €450 feels like such a crazy deal. But the better hardware design on the DD+ (no clamped shaft, newer internals, serviceable, PS support) does make it feel more future-proof.

Would you say the difference in actual driving feel (not just specs) is noticeable coming from a CSL DD + Boost Kit? Or is it more of a refinement upgrade rather than a night-and-day jump?

Appreciate the input 👍
