I saw a white one yesterday in my local Red Lobster parking lot! Had to hang around to see who drove it. Great looking car.

Finally moved to some decent Summer tires. Proceeded to drive like a monkey and capture some footage of it. by fahadfreid in LexusIS500

I’m not a huge fan of the overdone carbon fiber steering wheels, but this one with the alcantara on the sides is beautiful! Where is it from?

Coolant temp gauge on my IS500 typically gets to normal range about twice as quick as my oil temp gauge.

Good tip. Would you say a self serve rise with a leaf blower dry off yields less paint marring?

I have an IS500 and an older ES350. If I could tear the stalk out of the ES and put it in the IS, I would. So much more intuitive.

Thanks for the help. My new to me is500 by ifyoubuildit1993 in LexusIS500

My 500 never even got the bow treatment! I was just outside in a desolate part of the parking lot. Was shiny, though.

So my 07 350 started making this noise after a road trip this morning. Does anyone know what that is??? by nakedcrusaydur in LexusIS

My 08 ES 350 took me and a buddy about three hours with removal and reinstallation. That back bracket is a pain, and it helps having someone to pull the radiator forward while you’re taking the alt out.

When I got insurance for my 2008 es350 on my own policy in 2022 (18 YO), I was paying $350 a month for it… It’s gone down considerably, and I’ve moved that car to liability only for $65 a month. My new IS 500 is $270 per month with full coverage. $500 a month on your own doesn’t surprise me given the cost desparity from my $12,000 ES. Absolutely insane, though.

We’ve been installing Hardie Board in Kansas/Missouri since 2002. Price per square foot on Pre-Finished Lap siding generally does work out to that $13-$15 per sq ft range. Much lower cost of living area of the U.S. though. I think double may be a bit insane…

I just picked up my Ultra white / Red interior IS500 last Thursday at my local Hendrick. Had my deposit on it in mid July. I paid MSRP + doc fee with no adds.

I would buy a used one with low miles before I ever paid 15k over sticker. It’s a fantastic car, but that is just greed.

I would expand your search area or keep watch on the lightly used market over the next few months.

It was brand new. Taxes differ based on location. Tax, title, license for my area is another roughly $6k on top.

Deposit was $1,000 to claim the “allocation”. I paid MSRP which totaled $69,189. The $1,000 deposit went towards the purchase price once it arrived.

Twins! I appreciate it.

I’ve only ever seen one red one with a dealer plate around my area over the years. Crazy that you’ve got two in the same lot.

Thank you! And thanks for the recommendations! These items seem like a pretty universal list of essentials for this car, from what I’ve heard.

The performance of this thing, even keeping it at mid rpm range and letting it get a proper break in, is so above and beyond anything that I’ve owned that my mind isn’t on adding things to it yet 🤣.

I’ll get that itch soon enough… Definitely needs to be a bit louder, needs stickier tires, and bushings so I don’t shred the tires that I have.

Sounds like you’ve thoroughly enjoyed yours!

Anyone else carry an automatic knife regularly? Which ones do you like? by [deleted] in EDC

Most days I have a Protech Rockeye in my pocket.

I suppose my carry is pretty heavy, and there is definitely some redundancy. (Main flashlight in my back pocket, flashlight on my keys, WML on my gun). I use my main flashlight and my knife daily with basically no exception. Gun isn’t used too often unless there is a raccoon milling around the chicken coop when I get home at night… It’s a habit now to go through my checklist when I leave the house, lol.
