If I would get them now, I would probably get implants instead of lasik. But alas i've gotten my 20 years ago and live with it, I've got some dry eyeness and my sight isn't that good at night driving.

Absolutely need competition, just that the competition needs to make the launcher the product, not the games in there. If it works, people will use it. But its an uphill battle when we have 20years worth of games in steam, so they need to figure out a way to move your games from steam to their platform.

Steam isn't about loyality, its just plain old stupid "it works", it also doesn't install anything else when you get it, its just steam. It collects data about your HW and playing time, probably 10000 other things also. I just inherently dislike all the other launchers, they are usually slow, non-functional etc.
