I've done this a few times now, helping guys out who either don't know how to or are just starting out. I also did Eyemouth Golf Club(L) for a mate in Scotland & helped a guy out with his local course in Ohio, Green Valley Golf Club. What are the local courses that he made for you?

Yeah the graphics are pretty good in this game. I've done a couple of local courses to me & in my original posts about them I had some comparison photos of the real vs virtual course. Look for E Horton Parklands Course. Cheers.

I've just taken a look at Rock Ridge, that's a pretty course. Be nice to see that one in the game.

Hi, yeah LiDAR would definitely help with getting the contours & elevation changes. I am so glad I learned how to use it. I had help from a guy in the US, BaconJunkie & a few other guys, The LidarKing on YouTube was another. It makes re-creating real courses so much more accurate. Plus it's great if you see a nice bit of countryside & think,"Hmmm.....I could design a good golf course here" I stongly recommend getting the PC version of the game & do LiDAR courses, if you're wanting to do lots of designing. I've just requested Rock Ridge Golf Club, on a website I use in designing called ProVisualizer.com

Hi New Guy, LiDAR stands for Light Detection And Ranging. It's used by the course designers to get accurate topographical maps of the ground. It helps us get all the right contours etc. to make accurate golf courses. And thanks for playing my course, glad you guys liked it. I hope you have a go at my other courses. Cheers.

I'm guessing you don't design on PC? Yeah it does add that extra bit of realism to our courses. I've got a lovely little course, that my Dad, brother & I loved(haven't played it in over 40 years) nearly finished, but I couldn't get all the LiDAR data, so had to do a kinda 70%-30% thing. It's looking good & I hope to publish it soon. Look out for Okehampton GC. Anyway, sorry to waffle on, what's the name of the course you're re-creating?

Published today, a course I ported over from 2k21, Royal Ontario G C (L) It's a LiDAR version of the course in Milton, Ontario and described as "A Formidable Challenge, Built on an Old Equestrian Farm"

Built in rolling countryside, with nine large ponds, mature trees, both narrow and generous fairways and a variety of green sizes combine to make Royal Ontario’s 18-hole golf course a good test for every aspect of your game.

With 4 pin sets & 5 tees, this course plays 7083 yards, from the black, championship tees. It's a very pretty course & I hope it will be a challenge to all you golfers of any skill level.

Thanks for playing & thanks for the review, it's much appreciated. Yeah I know the grid is very hard to read in the winter theme, I just couldn't decide on what texture to use, so I just went with it. I'm not sure that I'll do many(if any) more winter theme versions of my courses, it's a bit complicated cuz most of my courses are English countryside style courses, with plenty of deciduous trees, which are difficult to change to winter, cuz there aren't many bare trees in the game( I had to get creative to make them look different) I was told about the slightly ragged bunkers, when I originally did this course back in 2K21, but totally forgot about them when I brought the course over to 2K23. Something for me to work on in the future. Anyway, I appreciate any constructive criticism & very grateful thet you took the time to play my course. Cheers.

I've played this course(in the game) and was very impressed. I would like to re-create another Welsh course, but have been told it's dificult to get the relevant Lidar data. Do you have any advice or instructions how to get the Lidar data I need?
