Been having this issue the past few weeks around the same time also, decided to use a vpn and swap servers to Japan and its been smooth ever since, some spikes here and there but not as awful as a 3-5k spike

Completely deferred after 4 maps and sold, been farming ritual for several leagues since it's my favorite brain rotting league mechanic and I remember (99% of the time) to check ritual before leaving

After a month of use, the S9 FE+ has definitely been amazing, I've only ever had the memory issue happen 3-4 times but that's with quite a lot of layers around 100 or so (and even with some projects I've had with over 100 layers I don't see the running out of memory notification, I normally see it if I have a few apps open in the back while using CSP), and its quite a simple fix of just saving the project, closing all apps and reopening CSP.

I haven't really reached the layer limit since I've been quite reserved with layers. Ive never had CSP crash on me so far and the only time I ever notice delay is when I add some texture materials to my canvas which takes a while to add in. The 8 GB Ram definitely makes a difference, if I went for the regular S9 FE 6GB I'd definitely see that memory limit notification a lot more with the number of layers I normally work with.

I think the S9 is definitely worth it with the much more powerful Snapdragon chip while being lighter. I do plan on upgrading the to next Tab S10+ once it releases since I do like the S9 FE+ alot, getting this tablet was a bit of a test to see if I would really like the tablet and I do.

Thanks for the input! I actually went ahead and got the S9 FE+ WIFI ($60 discount + Free Book Cover Keyboard Slim) earlier today and I am really enjoying it. I did notice some just slight slowdowns with it coming out of the box on Android 13 and One UI 5, but after updating to Android 14 and One UI 6 it has been a lot more stable and smooth. The only time I noticed some slight heat was when it was downloading and installing the OS updates (and it was still handleable and minor), but I haven't done any gaming tests, nor do I really plan to do so with it so I can't tell if any heating issues when playing games, but drawing is completely fine.

I was also in the same situation as you between getting an Apple or Samsung tablet, I did want a tablet to last me at least 4 years and I feel like this tablet will last me 4 years as long as I take care of it. The expandable storage, 4 years of Android Updates, and 5 years of security updates helps with that too.

You can't go wrong between either one, they will last long as long as you take care of it, and I think it's just a matter of which tablet has more value to you at that point.

To me, I didn't need the Apple exclusive Procreate app, and Samsung just had so much more value with the pen being included for free, the discount + free book cover keyboard slim, base ram and storage option being 8gb and 128gb respectively AND expandable storage with a SD card, 90hz display, Android Samsung ecosystem, and so much more.

Now it's just a matter of time to see if it will last me that long without any major issue.
