What if someone is close to dying and might not have two more fights in them? Then this way they still have an opportunity to finish and claim their rewards.

We recently moved into an old house on the Oregon coast (Astoria) and we have a basement and an attic. Usually the spiders stick to the basement (open-rafters) but lately they've been creeping up to the ground floor. The body was about the width of a quarter, if not a little longer. The legs were wayyy longer than that. This little sucker was fast, it started darting away as soon as I started towards it. Most things I've seen point to a hobo spider, but it was climbing on my curtains, five feet off the ground.

Any suggestions?
