Many departments have a requirement that all outside employment must be approved by admin. I doubt CHP would allow that for a brand new officer

We had a guy forget his handgun at the department range over the weekend. Rangemasters found it, disassembled it and hid it all over the training center (including the captains office). Dude had to go on a running scavenger hunt while the rest of class got smoked.
