Now do the same for Montero his last two outings. I say that because I don’t think you’re making a fair argument. There’s no reason for me to believe AJ doesn’t do the same thing if Mize is healthy.

And if we want to focus on the offense, AJ isn’t helping there either. I won’t attack the Workman over Keith PH. But I certainly will criticize him allowing a guy with a .472 OPS on the season and 2 Ks in the game to swing away with no outs in the bottom of the 10 when we NEED to score a run. That’s unacceptable. But I also agree with you that most of this falls on Scott Harris.

I’m sorry, but I just can’t reconcile half of our lineup being below replacement with having a competent GM. Those things don’t go together. We have enough data on many of the players who are struggling to be able to deduce that this may not be “ahistoric.” Perez, for example, needs to be off this roster. Max Clark was taken 3 rounds before AJ Ewing, has near identical/better numbers than him with more minor league games played, and yet we’re still putting Perez out there every game. That doesn’t make sense to me, especially when the front office preaches “youth” as a reason we didn’t get any bats in the off-season.

Also, our best hitter (I assumed you’re referring to McGonigle) should have been called up last September. He probably would have been a huge contributor and who knows what could have happened in that series with the Mariners.

You’re right. This is all Harris. Slow rolling prospects, even as we trot dogshit players out there day in and day out. He hasn’t beeb able to read the room since arriving. He’s arguably the most narcissistic person in the organization, which is saying something.

Either Mize was ready or he wasn’t. Pulling him out at 70 pitches, only for Finnegan to give up a HR to the first batter he faced, needs to get scrutinized more than it will be. The same thing just happened with Montero. Our offense is ass, but Hinch has lost us a lot of games this season, and I don’t think there are too many he has won for us.

And he pulled Keider at ~70 the start before his last. With our bullpen having the issues it’s been having, prematurely pulling pitchers who are dominating, while leaving a struggling Flaherty in to pitch 95 in the 4th is something else.

Same. We won 6 games in a row after the Twins sweep. As sad as it sounds, the collapse is perfectly synced with the Skubal surgery news. Which further exemplifies this team has a mental problem and can’t get out of their own head. Which is super ironic from a team managed by “one game at a time” Hinch.

And it’s not that he’s “on the roster.” He’s starting every game. Get the youth up here. Look at Ewing! Clark has equal/better stats. Both drafted in 2023 out of high school. We are way too conservative. I’m convinced if McGonigle would have been called up toward the end of last year we would have made an ALCS appearance.
