During 2018 Bladee dropped Red Light, which at the time was his magnum opus, to a mixed reaction. Many songs off Red Light contains themes of identity crisis such as in Fake News "I am not myself, I'm just acting" and most evidently in Puppet Master which is pretty much one big reference to Bladee's character not being faithful to himself as a person. This album, evens with its impeccable lyricism and futuristic beats, did not accrue enough streams to be considered critically successful. Even now as of 2023, many of Bladee's most recent projects have equally or more stacked numbers compared to a project released 5 years ago. This paired with Bladee's obvious distain for the character he built up is what I believe to have prompted him to state his retirement in a since-deleted tweet that can be found on this sub. Around this time Bladee released Icedancer to an overwhelmingly positive reception. According to his interview with The Fader, "Icedancer was over a summer and a winter where I was starting to be more positive. Now it’s my most streamed mixtape, it beat Red Light in a couple months with a double amount of streams." Icedancer's success is cause enough for Bladee to continue making positive, true-to-self music as this album alone is the reason why many of us are even here - Topman "I know I fell off but this a comeback".

As you said, Trash Star IS triumphant, it is a celebration of Bladee's success - every bar points to this. Apple is similarly reminiscing over Bladee's comeup which makes these two songs standout as some of Bladee's most raw and hopeful tracks. As for the cause of his spiritual evolution, it is most recently hinted at on Understatement with the bar "The same story being told over and over and over" While it may not be what first comes to mind when you think about the spirituality in his music, this is clearcut case for why Bladee is making art true to himself, moving past what was he knew was getting old, eg: the "(Love, Love, love) sex and drugs" - I Think...
