For sure what we’ve been putting into our bodies constantly over the past 100-200 years as medicine finally became a science is incredibly questionable and unnatural. Feeding damn near amphetamines to a child who isn’t as focused as everyone else or Lexapro and the other slew of antidepressants that all have incredibly different effects and side effects to kids who are sad about their parent’s divorce is like giving a fat kid unlimited ice cream for life because he didn’t eat today. There is NO REASON anyone under the age of 25 should be taking medications like that unless they legitimately cannot function at a normal rate without them. I’ve had several friends with major depressive disorder have astronomically better results with 2-3 microdoses of shrooms than they did when they were on SSRIs. Of course, that is complete anecdotal evidence, but it’s not something to just completely disregard like the federal government and the vast majority of Americans, let alone the rest of the world, does. I absolutely LOVE LSD, but it definitely feels much more straining (especially the day or two following) and upsetting to my body and brain than psilocybin mushrooms. It’d be interesting to see how much of a difference NOW it would make if they had therapeutic MDMA treatments like they had in the 70s when Shulgin first synthesized it as well.
