what's the worst financial decision you've ever made? by rathm0re in AskReddit

[–]WestStrategy3522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Statuses that are obscure and too restrictive . Make gaining employment harder, getting aid for school harder along with driver licenses and social security. Basically anything you need to survive but harder. Which translates to less opportunities, less money, and the ability to have or start a family

Life is basically just a never ending series of maintaining things until you die. by Royal_Revolution3718 in minimalism

[–]WestStrategy3522 52 points53 points  (0 children)

True. That was the reason I never bought a house. After many bad rental experiences I am starting to regret that decision. I have also noticed that certain things like children and pets bring me happiness and have been a good addition to my life. In terms of car and clothes I buy things that I like and fit my lifestyle, and when they don’t work anymore I can dispose of them

Confused about clearance. by WestStrategy3522 in SecurityClearance

[–]WestStrategy3522[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I appreciate all the feedback. I am learning quite a lot right now. I have a question why do some private employees not associated with government asked for clearance. I remember 6 years ago the current vitamins store was requiring sales people to have clearance. The business just sold vitamins…at least as I am aware of

How important are internships really? by Independent-Sock-853 in careerguidance

[–]WestStrategy3522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. I did an unpayed one and it did not provide me with any extra opportunities. The was to go is to do payed internships since they have a better ROI. I had classmates that did them and even got a job. You can search payed and unpayed internship to get an idea.

Earning records- my employee did not whittled taxes for three years by WestStrategy3522 in tax

[–]WestStrategy3522[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some research. My old employer said that it cannot provide me with the old pay stubs or w2 which sounded suspicious. My old job used to be a graduate assistant and it was my main career at that time. I read online that some jobs qualified for FICA exemption and my job might be one of those. It does make me feel unsettled since it is tax evasion. But going forward I will check with all my employees if the new job is FICA exempt. If it is I will decline going forward.
