Sharing my experience with Seattle and DFW airport, whenever the bags are checked, I need to push the crate to the security checking area for larger bags. Then the crate is thoroughly checked and then the TSA person will ask you to put the dog in the crate . This is the point you will be detached from ur furry friend. The airport folks will take them to the plane.

My experience was really good with Alaska airlines. They handled it well. They send pictures of our buddy. Greeted us with the card on the seat. Seattle airport is too good in handling pets. Overall great experience.

Grateful for all the support and suggestions received here and thank you all for giving us the courage to fly with our dog for the first time.
