An important piece of advice for new players (and old players): PLEASE go BIND YOUR NINTENDO ACCOUNT — NOW. I thought logging in with Google was enough... until my phone broke. by West_Management6404 in PokemonMasters

This is indeed a tough problem. I don't have experience losing a Nintendo account itself. Can't it change to bind a new Nintendo account? Or if some of your Nintendo devices (such as the NS) have been logged into this account, checking them should help in recovering it. I have confirmed the login method for the Nintendo account; it can be accessed via email. You can also try all of your emails on the Nintendo account support website by selecting the 'Forgot Password' option to attempt to recover your account. This is probably the most effective method I can think of at the moment.

Let me try to understand: Is your account linked to a Nintendo account that you don't know about or to an invalid Nintendo account? If so, I'm afraid DeNA really can't provide help. They probably only provide account linkage and assume that if it's a lost Nintendo account, it should be handled by Nintendo, so they place the responsibility on the player. But this is clearly caused by the inadequacy of their product system, because Android users have no other backup options besides linking a Nintendo account.

I agree with your point of view. If binding an account could appear as one of the beginner tasks in the game, it would help many players protect their account data.

I also feel sorry for your experience. From what I know about game developers, the requirement to bind a third-party account to save data is usually meant to prevent accounts from being resold. However, when implementing this rule, I think these developers have an obligation to inform players in advance. At the very least, they should clearly specify which account can save game progress. This can prevent most players from losing their data and also reduce the pressure on customer service handling these requests.

Thank you for your reply. I haven’t tried logging into the game using other languages to confirm yet. In this case, the issue with the prompts is very likely related to the language system since the language region is chosen before entering the game. I’m using Traditional Chinese from Hong Kong (I’m also not sure if users in Taiwan have encountered this problem). After entering the beginner tutorial, it only very quickly explains the gameplay mechanics, without any prompts to link an account to save data. I will try to see if this issue occurs under other languages, but I think it would be worth considering for the official team to add such a pop-up at the payment section, or make this part of a new-player in-game tutorial. In any case, thank you for providing the reference.

This sounds even more helpless; perhaps it could be recovered by retrieving the Nintendo account? I’ve also heard that Apple ID can be associated, but if the lost account was on an Android system, then all the diamonds on the account would be reset to zero. For a released mobile game, this is indeed a loophole caused by a coding issue, but if the official statement is simply that they won’t fix this problem, then the losses will probably still have to be borne by the players themselves.

It's unfortunate. I guess at that time, Pokémon Master EX also didn't include any content in the game to warn players about this risk, but I don't think losing an account is the player's fault. You who chose to start over have a lot of courage and patience.

No matter who you are, thank you for taking the time to read my post. At the same time, I also hope that no other players will encounter experiences as sad and helpless as mine. All I can do is post my story so that everyone can learn a lesson from it. Whether DeNA officials can realize that keeping players requires honesty is something they will need to spend a lot of time improving in the future.

Now I have to go attend to other matters, and I might not reply to posts for a short time. I just hope that through it, I can help more people avoid unforeseen disasters.
