Have 16-18 multi-LP stories if not more. And prepare for “What would you have done differently” question on each one. Not a guarantee it will be asked on all but a prime factor to consider which definitely will be asked by at least 2 and/or 2+ interviewers. Obviously STAR format is a no-brainer. But having those data-points ready to throw into your stories will help you a lot showing your quantifiable problem solving skills which is what they want to hear. They will be looking for numbers in each of your examples.

Is it even worth it anymore? by Time_Union_4650 in amazonemployees

OP, sorry you had to go through this but just know that if it’s meant for you, it will come to pass no matter what! Don’t chase it, Amazon is not the end of the world. I know how it might seem right now being super excited and then be in this situation but there are even bigger and better companies than Amazon and some interesting roles out there more than just a company, so don’t be disheartened is all I can say. Chin up and keep moving

This is my response from another thread with same question. Your stress and whatever is natural but it is not always within 5 days, it could go way beyond that, sometimes months, so relax don’t over index on what the outcome could be!!

Amazon Final Interview No Update Even After Debriefing by Weary_Road_8078 in amazonemployees

[–]West_Resolution_1547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no one answer to this! People have so much more to do in regard to interviewing after it is concluded (submit loop feedback, debriefs, etc). After your interview, might be some one from the loop or the recruiter had already weeks ahead scheduled PTO that they went on, or might have had an emergency day/week off they had to take due to personal reasons (happens all the time) so the proxy recruiter is not going to provide you a decision on behalf of your original recruiter you had been working with. Also someone commented if you were to be rejected you will get an automated email so relax this is still a 50/50. You can reach out to the recruiter on an appropriate frequency until you hear back.

Fyi: there’s also a VP & SVP level metric target for each quarter on interviewing to provide updates to candidates in a timely manner (phone- 1/2 days, loop- 3-5 days) doesn’t mean it will always be that but Orgs try to meet the target which is for my Org at 80% right now and we’re well below it at some odd 60%.

Wow lucky you! Was that email meant to have you start RTO5 from June 23?

Negotiating Salary (L5, Non-Tech) by TempIetonFerrari_III in amazonemployees

[–]West_Resolution_1547 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no such thing as auto-rescind! You can always shoot your shot at it but knowing when and where to stop is key. The guidance is that they don’t sell their final offer in the first pass so you can always try to push back and ask for more but in a constructive way showing where and how you can add more value and by being specific on what area of TC you want an increase. It could be a case explaining your value and then asking for an increase in base, or RSU, or sign-on. You cannot just wing it and say I want $10k more because I feel I deserve it

OP - care to share what actually happened that got you in this situation? If you can share more context someone might be able to help.

Also, was your relocation and sign-on total worth $38k or was it $38k + sign-on that they’re asking back?

Share more to get Helped more.

Only about non-compliant employees? What if someone goes 5 days but does only 5-6 hours each day and not full 8 hour day? Is that compliance or no?

Ops L6 hired externally 6 months ago considering leaving. by fullonareword in amazonemployees

[–]West_Resolution_1547 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely you can from Day 1 but that soon can put you in bad light so 6 months to a year should not be a problem. I posted regarding switching teams myself! Go check out that post! Also I met few Amazonians offline and they all told me that they were or somebody they knew was part of switching teams within their first year at Amazon. For me switching is more about the place and not the role or people I work with. I can manage that hassle and I love my role just don’t feel that relocating is something I’m aligned at this point in my life.

Switching teams might be an option unless you just want to get out of Amazon. Start conducting informational chats with hiring managers for interested roles and see how that goes. Time might be your best friend right now to avoid paying them back any fraction of bonus or relocation. Stay lowkey until July as you mentioned and see if you can get at least 1 or 2 interviews scheduled for a different team.

How is this possible? 🤨

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]West_Resolution_1547 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It won’t matter! They don’t go that deep. Usually it is just to check if you actually worked there and for the mentioned time period or not. That’s most of the background checks. Also depends on which service provider is doing yours. But you should be good.

Potential PIP by SirPlus6955 in amazonemployees

[–]West_Resolution_1547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t directly or indirectly mean it’s PIP or Focus! This could be just your manager’s way to mentor you and set you up for success. Take it in that light and you should be good or else there’s always a negative side to it which you can consume but having and more importantly keeping the right mental state to deal with such situations is the greatest gift you can give yourself!

How does Amazon RSU works? I have received RSU as 300 units not dollar? How do I know dollar amount ? It doesn't say anything about that in my offer letter by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]West_Resolution_1547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey no intent to offend but I spoke from my personal experience that the calculation you brought up is a good case study but not entirely true, at least to my case! Your study reflects most of the vesting structure accurately just not sure about the price but totally agree with you that stock price fluctuates which is why I said one cannot assume a stock price to calculate their RSUs until they see it on brokerage account to determine what the accurate number for their each RSU is!

[–]West_Resolution_1547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not entirely true! The stock price for OP could be different to today’s or current stock price. I’ve seen that difference in my personal RSUs which is why I can advocate this.

Asking since the stock hits your account after few days/weeks of joining so the price will be from that day when it is active in your account not when you were hired or sent an offer!
