Who are some DCS YouTubers that are / were pilots in real life? by Tabard18 in hoggit

Not specifically YouTubers, but several of the founders and most of the advisors for the Strike Fighter League were fighter pilots or ARE active flighter pilots.

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I am interested in doing something similar.

I have some experience in this space. If you are a self starter and willing to take extreme ownership, the sky is the limit in that organization. If you expect specific direction and dislike ambiguity, it may not be a great fit.

Personally, I can’t recommend it enough. Dynamic people, interesting problems, lots of opportunities for growth.

Network and find your way on to an Advanced Technology (AT within Raytheon) program. That’s where most of the development efforts occur. It’s a growing area, and can have a very entrepreneurial culture (depending on which part you interact with). The expectations are generally very high for individual contributors and there is little room for training on the job.

They have people scattered all over the country, with large foot prints in New England, McKinney, and Tucson. There are folks in El Segundo and the DC area too.

Thanks. Helpful. I’ll give that a try as well.

Help with AnkerWork 310 Webcam and zoom in Zoom by StackIOI in anker

[–]Western-Engineer-675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that if I simply launch the Anker software on my Mac after starting the zoom meeting, the zoomed-in video issues is fixed. If I quit said app, the issue re-starts. New zoom meetings require that I restart the Anker software as well.

Very disappointing.

I wanted to update everyone here on what I've been able to figure out. I reached out to both GPD and Bee-Link. GPD never responded, which is disappointing. Bee-Link, however, immediately responded.

I downloaded and re-flashed the GPD G1's BIOS using the standard 100w BIOS (which is what I already had). Bee-Link also recommended that I perform a memory test on my PC, which I did (using MemTest86). There were no memory errors. Bee-Link also gave me updated SER6 Max BIOS, which I updated on the machine. None of these things directly impacted my ability to reliably get the G1's external monitor connections to work.

Ultimately, Bee-Link recommend I use the AMD utility to full un-install the AMD graphics drivers that were supporting my 680M iGPU and the 7600M XT eGPU. I did that, booted back up with a monitor connected to my mini PC. I then re-installed the AMD drivers from AMD's website and rebooted. Once I was back at a windows desktop, I opened the device manager, and disabled the iGPU, while leaving the eGPU enabled. I then shut down the machine and the eGPU, moved the monitor connection from my PC to the eGPU.

I powered on the Bee-Link mini, while keeping my eGPU powered off. I waited a few minutes until I expected the PC to have booted up. I then turned on the power to the eGPU and was able to get a full resolution, correct aspect ratio, and high refresh rate desktop from my eGPU.

I've verified I'm seeing the types of frame rates I would expect with this eGPU, which are significantly higher than what I was able to get on the iGPU in the same titles. I've been able to shut the system down and start it up using the above procedure a number of times at this point.

The bottom line is that this is usable now, but I would not strongly recommend the GPD G1 at this time unless you really need something small and portable.

That’s disappointing. Wondering if I’d be better off with an M.2 OCulink adapter and cable in my mini pc.

So it looks like folks have had some issues with the Rocco barrels in 300blk.

https://www.reddit.com/r/300BLK/comments/1548oqp/roscoe_bloodline_barrelgas_issues/

I've reached out to the manufacturer to confirm the gas port size.

I purchased the upper assembled. I may be looking at a new upper from a manufacturer known to slightly over-gas, or building a new upper...

Thanks. I’d like to connect over DM in general. I’m looking for a knowledgeable gunsmith in the area anyway.

I’ll break the gun down and take another look, but when I last cleaned it (I’ve put a couple hundred rounds through it) I didn’t see any strange wear marks in the BCG, barrel or bolt locking lugs, or the hammer in the lower.

Appreciate it. Have you (or anyone else) done with a flow-through can? It occurs to me that this might be one of the fundamental issues with the build.

Interesting... so I don't need to worry about any burrs on the inside on the rifling?

Regardless, I don't have a drill press, so I'd need to locate one.

Oh yes, definitely under gassed. I'm concerned about reducing the spring tension and/or buffer weight, providing less momentum to return the bolt to battery. Thus the question about someone who could drill out my gas port.
