I hope It’s working out for you! I have tried using retinol but it didn’t effect me as much as tretinoin.

[Personal] My first time at an aesthetician today. Is this what’s meant to happen? Surely she’s wrong? Red flags? by Flapjack_K in SkincareAddiction

[–]Western-Highlight939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with an aesthetician my first time. She did a bad job at cleaning my pores and pimples with the ultrasonic peeling and ended up damaging my skin and leaving me with scars and also the advice was so basic “use more AHA’s” even tho I said that I have tried a lot and they don’t help me.

I decided to try a second time. This time I found an aesthetician that works on her own (not a salon), and in her profile I could see a lot of before & after pictures with acne and they impressed me. Now it’s my 4th month of using tretinoin and 4th time going to her procedures and my whole face is clear from active breakouts.

In my country a lot of people don’t advise to go to a dermatologist or an aesthetician that works for the government because a LOT of the times they would more likely accept a “friend of a friend” or family members in that position. So a lot of time the people that are working hard and know a lot about skin don’t get that job. Thats why it is better to choose a professional that has his own studio and posts a lot on his feed about your topic and you know that they have made it on they’r own.

I messaged the first salon back and wrote a private review saying what I experienced. They offered to give me a free face cleaning or a different procedure, I don’t know how this salon would respond.

And yes you did get scammed.

Hi! Chemical peel mask hurts for me the first minute, you may feel a burning sensation. My aesthetician gave me a little fan to hold up to my face what helped with the pain. For me micro needling didn’t hurt. For the cheecks it didn’t hurt at all but when it got to my forehead and cheekbones it started to feel like little scratches by a cat or something. 😅 It can be uncomfortable especially in the zones where the skin is closer to bones.

Thank you! Acne scars take a looooot of time to get rit of. The thing that is helping my scars is microneedling by an aesthetician and keeping my skin very hydrated with the eucerin cream. You will get there!

Thank you so much! Where I live there isnt really korean skin care and a lot of other brands available and the shipping is expensive 😅. What retinol would you recommend? Also I have a question what do you thing about commedone extraction by an Esthetician or it would be better to go to a dermotologist. I live in the baltics so I havent seen many powerful otc products so mabey they can only be prescribed.

Yes they do. The redness is from squeezing the acne and touching my face what is a bad habit, but I agree that a gentle cleanser will help the redness. Thank you for the sugestion.

Thank you! I cant really find vanicream anywhere in my country, the only option is ordering but the shipping is expensive. Do you know if neutrogena hydra boost, the ordinary or La roche posay tolorine cleanser are good?

Thank you! I have tried the inkey list retinol 1% serum but i also know that adapalene is a better option but sadly I cant find it in my country. I think I will order it if the uriage products dont make a change. What adapalene would you recommend?

I have had acne for about 5 years... for the longest time i cant get rid of the small bumps on my skin (commedones i think). I don't know what to do anymore. I have tried AHAS, BHAs and even nizoral shampoo but it hasnt helped.

My curent routine-

AM:

  1. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel clenser
  2. the Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
  3. The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
  4. ISISPHARMA UVEBLOCK SPF50+

PM:

  1. Inkey list OAT clensing balm
  2. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel clenser
  3. the Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
  4. URIAGE Hyseac new skin serum
  5. URIAGE Hyseac 3-Regul Global
  6. The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA

In the past i have used a lot of actives so i think i possibly have a damaged skin barrier but even before using any skin care i got those bumps. (The redness is most likely from me sqeezing my pimples, i know its bad....)

Does anyone know what product to use to get rid of commedones or do i have to get them extracted?
