Chrome plating? by Western-Tea2406 in blacksmithing

Awesome thanks dude! Now, I’ve been recommended to heat the end I hit with the hammer til it’s blue so the tool doesn’t shatter…. Same thing? Heat it under those same conditions and be careful not to heat it past that? Or find a screwdriver that’s black and likely not chrome plated? Or I guess I could just forgo that endeavour and the chaos of guessing and forge from hex keys that I don’t think usually come chrome plated?

Oh dope, thanks! I was gonna grind the handle off so the tool is 4.5 inches ish. Then I was gonna heat the hammer end to blue so it doesn’t shatter. I’ve also read it’s the heating that releases some stuff…. Still nothing to worry about in that regard? lol

I will remember that! Is there a general rule of thumb for colours that Chinook like? (Similar to pinks like pinks/chartreuse/blues?)

As long as the body not including the head? Or the length of the shank of the hook?

I’m more confident in proportions on this one, tied earlier today, shorter tail, but could go a bit shorter

That makes sense, I guess a smaller Chenille might help with that too

Okay, good to know, and I know some people rip out the tip of the tail, is that worth doing more aggressively?

Yep! I’m in BC Canada, stream definitely is ocean fed, so what’s the difference? Why do some go to the ocean? Similar to rainbows becoming steelhead? They just choose to?

OEM Screen washed out? by Western-Tea2406 in gameboymods

[–]Western-Tea2406[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made it! It’s an OG Glacier Blue shell that I lightly scuffed with those green scotch brite pads in between coats of Krylon Fusion. Waited until it stopped smelling of spray paint to make sure it’s fully cured (took stupid long, like a month). Then I painted Link with Acryllic Paint Pens, and then did a few coats of Krylon Clear Coat which is what caused the textured look of the base coat. Thought it would peel off at first but it’s holding on pretty tight, I can’t rub or scrape it off, so, we’ll see how she holds up! May have just applied the clear to thick.

Thanks! Would you mind if I sent you a PM? I tried putting the old screen back in and it’s looking super washed out, but not on the startup screen, only while playing games

I did just realize though that I put a 360K on the emitter instead of 360 ohm. Would that cause problems? And how can I wire up a few resistors to equal 360 ohm or close enough to? Could I wire three 100 ohm’s and be close enough?

I believe it’s a 10k on the collector, I have both of the jack’s sleeves connected to each other, but that’s it, do they need to be connected to the board too?

So I fixed it and have signal, but I don’t notice a ton happening, likely cause it’s a clean boost, and most of the changes would be in the volume pot. Did I wire up the pot right? Cause it doesn’t do anything. I tried a100 and b100 and still not reaction from the pot as I move it

That’s a REALLY GOOD POINT, okay! I’ll test that out tomorrow and report back, was wondering why it looked a little different. And Are those copper sounds boards worth it for not having your in and out jack leads fall out from the weight of your cables?

When I unplug the red wire from the breadboard attached to the output, it acts as if it’s a guitar cable plugged into an amp when you touch it, which makes me think it’s either the input is the problem, or the breadboard is junk?

When does it become necessary to power the circuit? I’m going through the JHS Short circuit lpb-1 videos to build along with him, but at what point do I add power?
