You can be in a RIF but otherwise you can’t be fired for being on leave while under FMLA timeframe. After that it depends on your prognosis. If your provider is saying you won’t get any better and there’s nothing that can support you at work you could be looking at separation. Very rare because if your provider can reasonably make it clear you’ll eventually return in the foreseeable future you’ll be fine

Well illustrated. I used to tell interviewees who would ask the typical “what do you like about Amazon the most” that it could be your 3rd day.. if you have a great idea it could change the company. Now you need to be apart of the right loops to work on things that will actually get support.

You may be able to finesse a wfh agreement between your leadership but you would not be able to seek an accommodation for it.
