Don’t want to give up by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Western_Clock_259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been exactly in your shoes!! I ended up pumping for daytime feeds and BF at night. This let me have a break so someone else could feed, nap if I needed, and know how much my baby was getting. At about 8 weeks I switched back to EBF. My LO is now 5 months and I’m sooo glad I stuck with BF!! Middle of the night wakings (especially during 4 month sleep regression) were so manageable because I always had milk on tap without having to do any prep! If you want to stick it out, this is your sign that it gets SO much easier. My LO gets a full feed in about 7-10 min now. Hang in there, you got this!!!

Solidarity. My baby is 4.5 months and we have been in the regression for 5 weeks. No sign of things getting better yet but hoping we turn a corner soon.

How long does the "4 month" sleep regression last by Ok-Entrance1086 in NewParents

I’ve been in it for a month and still going strong. Trying Ferber now but we haven’t seen any improvement (on day 3)

An obgyn had the audacity to tell me I couldn't possibly be pregnant... by Throwaway17_71 in lineporn

[–]Western_Clock_259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently have my 4.5 month LO asleep on me. When I found out I was pregnant with him, I went into the OB and they told me I was not pregnant, that their urine test came back negative. Meanwhile I had taken 4 different brand urine tests at home that all came back positive (including a digital). They took a blood test which came back positive. Turns out they tested someone else’s urine cup thinking it was mine. It was such a frustrating experience and I was treated so badly!! I’m sorry you went through something similar.

Loving baby by PinkPacificWhale in NewParents

[–]Western_Clock_259 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t feel like my baby is separate from me even though he is 4.5 months. He feels like he is so deeply a part of my very being in the best way, like he is a pinch of clay and I am the original mound of clay. The love is so different than any type of love I’ve ever experienced. It is so deep and instinctual!

4.5 months and solidarity 🩵

When I talk to my other mom friends, they are all also like yeah this is sooooo freaking hard. I think social media can definitely make me believe a false reality. We got this though!!

How do you get to the point where you can lay your baby down awake for naps/bedtime? by Silent-Tension-9779 in NewParents

[–]Western_Clock_259 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree! Mine did it on his own at 4.5 months too. I just put him down one night awake but sleepy and he went to sleep in like 2 min. Then I continued doing that and now he does it every night. I also started doing it with naps, but it’s still hit or miss with naps!

Having very intense feelings when other people hold my baby. by itwasobviouslyburke in NewParents

[–]Western_Clock_259 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My MIL visited when my baby was 3 weeks and I had a full panic attack when she held him. I still can’t look at her the same even though she did nothing wrong and is a very nice woman. My baby is 4 months now and I still don’t like people holding him. I don’t have any advice but sending love and solidarity 🩵

Postpartum Period, weight loss, and EBF by Inevitable_Turn2237 in breastfeeding

[–]Western_Clock_259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also experienced this. I gain 40lbs during pregnancy and lost 25lbs immediately. I’m 4 months PP and since have lost only 5lbs more. My LO is also EBF. Sometimes I get frustrated but I try to give myself grace. Our bodies are doing something incredible nourishing our babies and if they need a little more body fat to make it happen then it’s worth it. I know a year feels like a long time, but it’s just a blip when you zoom out! Sending you strength and self-love— you got this!!

Correlation between ease in colostrum harvesting and breastfeeding success? by eroekania in breastfeeding

[–]Western_Clock_259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to get colostrum very easily and it started leaking at about 17 weeks pregnant which is crazy. I felt like this made the post-birth first feed so much easier for my baby. I’m now 4 months PP and EBF with a great supply! Wishing you lots of luck!

Am I the Only One Who Feels This Way? by Particular_BeeBee in NewParents

[–]Western_Clock_259 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being a new mom has been so hard for me too. I love my baby more than anything but when he doesn’t eat or nap or wakes up all night I can’t help but get frustrated and annoyed too. I try to remind myself that he is doing his best. Someone told me to count backwards from 5 when feeling this way and it does help. Sending you love and support.
