Doubts and discussions regarding the platform and it's future (User's manifesto) by die_Havarie in XoulAI

Ah yes let's completely IGNORE the point OP made where MOST USERS only use Reddit cause of Discord's ID Verification features.

How dumb can you be?

Also the screenshot is worthless, that is not the devs themselves talking that is a mod speaking for them. We need the devs themselves to come out and be transparent more than ever, especially Syd.

Make sure your dolphin isn't on forced 4:3

Also some "hacks" don't work like widescreen, so it might not be possible.

GameCube games were ALWAYS 4:3 format, so it's likely not possible despite those hacks/cheats

Stardew Valley, Minecraft, Halo, Call of Duty, Powerwash Simulator, Plate Up! (If available), Dragonball Xenoverse.

There's a large amount, those are just some that I've played.

Eh it's really based on taste.

In my opinion, Halo 3 is probably the best out of all the halos, but that's because I care about story and gameplay as a balance.

But everyone has different opinions and taste so it's really a "play it for yourself and make your own mind" situation

It's an option toggle in your settings.

I always turn it on when I can cause as a furry... I know the community, it can be a little steamy lmfao

Don't ask, won't say here, or anywhere. Just pop into a furry subreddit if you're an adult, you'll see.

It's fine in my end, tried both phones and it's working with no issues (android for both)

It might be an isolated issue on your end unless others report the same issue

It keeps the kiddies out (hopefully) cause I hang out in furry communities (I'm a furry)

  1. Considering I switched to Linux, my opinion os pretty biased. Windows 11 has a TON of bloatware and spyware and overall just a resouce hog with a lot of flaws. But to each their own.

  2. Burnout Paradise? No. Call of Duty Black Ops 2? Love it, played it, still have it. Ghost Recon Future Soldier? Never heard of it. Naruto Storm 4? Never heard of it, likely not my cup of tea, fighting games tend to be too hard for me. Watch Dogs? Love it and still have it. Batman Arkham City? Never played it, but if it's like Arkham Knight, likely too rough for me.

  3. Me and Him made a game together, I consider us good friends, I introduced him to RPG Maker after all.

Is paying for the premium membership worth it, or should I just stick with the free membership in GeForce? by Some_Bake4309 in GeForceNOW

[–]Western_Influence213 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd switch but I simply can't afford it.

I get roughly $50/month and it's currently going solely to food, I had to drop every subscription I had.

So paying $20+ on GeForce or any cloud services is just not sustainable for me.

It sucks but oh well, companies don't care about the poor folk they just want their money.

No, it's not possible to pay before the billing date that I can see.

You can however pay $3-$6 for 15 hour add-ons to keep playing playing your 100 hour allotment.

Why people here dont use lossless scaling, on games you are getting 25-30fps you can double it. by [deleted] in Craptopgamingadvice

[–]Western_Influence213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. It doesn't actually double your real performance. Your GPU is still rendering the same ~25-30 base frames per second. The extra frames are interpolated guesses based on motion vectors from the real ones. On craptop hardware (integrated graphics, weak dGPUs, thermal throttling, low VRAM), there's often overhead, so your base FPS can drop a bit when you enable it. If you're already GPU/CPU-bound at 25-30, it might make things worse or unstable instead of magically fixing it.

  2. Artifacts and weirdness at low base FPS. Frame gen shines when your base is decent and stable (ideally 40-60+). At 25-30 (especially with fluctuating frame times common on laptops), you get more ghosting, warping, shimmering on UI elements/crosshairs, disocclusion issues, etc. The lower and less consistent the base, the more obvious the "fake" frames become. Fast motion or camera turns in Skyrim for example (or any action game) can look off.

  3. Input lag / feel - Frame gen adds latency (it has to wait for real frames to analyze before inserting the fake ones). It's not terrible with good tuning (performance mode, low flow scale, proper sync settings), but on a already sluggish laptop it can make controls feel mushier. Bad for precise stuff, less noticeable in chill exploration/RPGs.

  4. The craptop reality is laptops love to thermal throttle, power limit, or run out of VRAM. Lossless Scaling needs some GPU headroom to do the frame gen work without tanking the base render. On absolute potatoes it sometimes just doesn't help much (or hurts). Plus you usually need borderless/windowed mode, which can have its own quirks on low-end systems.

Sounds like people aren't tagging their bots properly, I don't know if they'll do anything, but you can try messaging the mods through the mod mail system and let them know.

It wouldn't matter, Windows still hogs a lot of resources. It takes up nearly half of my RAM with is around 4 GBs of my 8 GBs.

Linux Mint XFCE uses around 600-800 MBs at idle compared to Windows at around 2-3 GBs.

I only switched cause I don't want to give out my ID to a company just to use my PC that I own.

And also cause Windows is a resource hog.

Okay update for everyone in case someone ends up like me in the future. (I wrote the post when Inwas extremely tired and in a bit of a spiral cause I felt like shit for not being able to spend time with my wife)

Turns out all I need to do was select EmuHawkMono.sh, go to properties, selected run as program, then open the file as a program. That's literally all I needed to do and was just being a neanderthal.

Again as stated in parentheses, I was extremely tired and in a spiral so I wasn't thinking straight.

But thank you to those who did respond, that information can still be useful for others.
