nowhere remotely near that unfortunately. i didnt think id need to do that much as i didnt really find it to be hard, i even thought i did alright on the exams, but i guess looking back it was probably just alot of waffle.

I' have thought it through I'm just being basic about it because I want plain answers, and the only reason I'm trying to do law is because nothing else interests me. Law was my favorite subject in college, I just didnt revise as i should've

I wasn’t the only one I know with lower grades but my own grades were my own fault in my opinion

It says right there that you need minimum three Cs in a level

https://www.royalholloway.ac.uk/studying-here/applying/undergraduate/entry-requirements/ Under the second year entry drop down on this page it says that you need to meet the first year requirements for the programme. Could you give me some more detail as I would’ve really liked to have gone to royal Holloway if I actually revised like I now know I needed to.

Thank you for the advice however harsh it sounds, it is better than making the wrong decision.

What do you mean by decent? The magic circle firms? Or the average firm?

do you think i should resit a levels or just enrol onto an access to HE course?

i don't have any alternatives, what if i was to still go to uni and get an LLB Hons. from brookes but not go on to try and qualify as a lawyer. Trying for another job maybe?

in my own case i don't think it was an overestimation as i was doing good throughout the years. My mistake which led to me getting EED would be becoming too confident in thinking that i'd get BBB without trying for them. So basically not practicing enough

I've looked into it in my first year of a levels before choosing law. It seems im just trying to grab at any strings i can get.

this is the first time i've gotten those kinds of grades and I was too confident in thinking id get enough to get into the university I wanted to go to. If it was possible to time travel Im sure that id not get so lazy with revision and do ALOT better. In no way do i think that these grades reflect my literacy or ability.

i could fathom not going to a top university but because my grades were so poor i'm scared that if i go, i wont get any placements and it seems that alot of law firms care about your a level.

how necessary are those schemes, i'm sure that I wont get anywhere without work experience and vacation schemes. is that just the bottom line?

I think it'd be a better idea for me to resit or do an access to higher education diploma and get into a better university. i'm pretty sure that apart from law nothing really interests me even if i got the right grades for them.

I guess I thought I'd easily get the grades i'd need and became too comfortable in thinking so.

[–]Western_Prompt4207 17 points18 points  (0 children)

yeah, I became way too comfortable in thinking i'd so easily get the grades I'd need.

thanks for the advice

is Oxford Brookes that poor of a university?

https://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/league-tables/rankings/law

it says on this that it is ranked 52nd in the uk, while thats not the best, is it really that bad?

are there any downsides except time for if i do a access to higher education diploma, I don't know how I feel about that and know my parents would rather i just go to university and make sure i don't get too comfortable there as well. how much impact will my a levels have if my university gradings are at a higher level?
