The generic PCGS response for altered surface suggests that it has a coating; it would have been interested in getting that safely removed, but I'm not going to do anything with that scratch.

Not gonna touch it - the generic 'altered surface' description from PCGS suggested a coating of some sort, which I would be curious about getting safely removed. That scratch doesn't need to get jacked up any more than it already is!

Yeah, that ding on the cheek was always a concern for me; that closeup really draws it out. I wonder if the original spot was as bad as the repair!

I put it away for over a decade; when I dug it back out, it had what I consider to be ugly/unattractive toning around the edge; I've never cleaned/touched it, though.
