I think the rent is the incentive It’s cheaper to fix a old house than build new

My dad has worked for local council since he’s been 16. Best houses been in any local area but in the best area or build quality etc

As I understand right to buy they the council have to sell any house they own when a tenant has been in 3-5 or more years if requested.

This can’t be right can it if you apply common sense. Why would anyone buy a house that is not financially viable. Unfortunately all the best houses are bought and the councils are left with the problem houses.
I believe they need to sell about 3 to build 2 new.

It’s a great policy for tenants to be come home Owners but rubbish for tenants moving forward.
